Microsoft Getting Desperate to Get Windows 10 Users on Windows 11
Received a new update banner today on the Windows 10 Update page contradicting a previous banner I received three years ago.
Microsoft Will Charge You $30 to Stay on Windows 10 After End of Support in 2025:

Windows 11 is inferior to 10, I will be very sad when I have to "upgrade."
Microsoft prefer that you switch to windows 11 rather than paying 30$/year for a product that need to be maintained for business anyway. That says a lot about windows 11
Looks like I will be using unsupported w10 for years, just like I did with 7
Linux, Linux, Linux! It's time! There's never been a better time to make the switch now that AAA gaming is a reality on Linux.
Yes, gaming shouldn't be the only determining factor, I know, but it has always served as a very useful yardstick to gauge the feasibility of running a Linux-system on the daily instead of Windows.
And I can tell you from personal experience, having made the switch from Windows to Linux Mint in June this year, on my own gaming pc as well as both my parents' laptops – not one of us has missed Windows since the switch.
It's time folks. Take back contol over your PC's and personal data and move to Linux.
I havent used windows since win 7. Linux is the answer.
I have to use Windows 11 on my work laptop by company mandate, but I'm still using Windows 10 on my private PC. Windows 11 is so horrendous that after support ends for 10, I will buy the extended support package, and once they stop selling that, I will move to Mac or Linux. The problem is that I want games to work on my PC, and Windows basically has a monopoly on that.
11 is crap as an OS though, just release 12 already, even if my hardware is supported it still says not supported, cause Microsoft…
I'm not planning to leave Windows 10 until 2032 so…
i like how i got the hardware for win 11 but it's telling me i don't meet the requirements
It’s because windows 11 is better state sponsored spyware. The big names in tech the manufacturers are forcing it on people by only providing drivers for windows 11. The day Ai is forced on us is the day that I’m never buying Ai products. Microsoft Ai is spyware. Those in the know can remove all of this junk from windows 11 but it’s coming to iPhones, android phones etc, that’ll be harder to remove.
Windows users are something different (I'm a Windows user too). We would rather use a 10 years old software that's clearly out of date for today's standards than move on to something new or different. I also used Windows 7 from 2012 until 2021, Windows 10 from 2017 until 2024, but we got to move on. Technology is advancing and we can't help that. If Microsoft always listened to their user's preferences we would still be on Windows 2000 (because that was the most stable and boring version of Windows apparently) We (Windows users) want stable and boring, I suppose😂
I switched to CachyOS, it's much better exoerience than Windows for me. I'm never going back.
And I don't know why they are so desperate. Vast majority will will switch, because they follow everything blindly like sheep, as much as they follow evil gov****ents. Some will stay with 10. Very few people will switch to Linux.
I will wait for win-12 and pay the $ to keep using Win-10 for as long as I can.
Never going to happen, I was told 10 was the last version I'll ever need by ms, and they where right. I've spent 24 odd years fighting to keep my computer adware, mailware, keylogger free. I'm not about to install it all just because they are features.
I've only seen that on my gaming laptop when I get bios update and it changes the TMP back on. It disappears after I shut it off. Don't want Microsoft to pull the crap they did last time when they just random upgrade people computers. I have not interest in going to 11, used it before, hated it, and don't want to use even more third party software then I do with 10 to make it usable. Once I finally get around to upgrading my m.2s in my laptop to give it another 2tbs of space that will give me a free 1TB m.2 I can move to my main PC and Linux mint is going on it. That what I'm going to try to Daily drive going forward.
No.
I have no TPM in my Ryzen 9 3900X + 3080 machine, and that's the way I like it. It is running Linux Mint 21.3 (plus kernel 6.8) just fine. A few apps don't work with it, Fusion 360 being the main one, but I've been daily-driving it for a bit over 2 months now and I have very few complaints, all primarily cosmetic so far.
My other computer which I do 99% of my internet stuff on is WIN 8.2 and works just fine. I just don't need what they offer. Pretty sure they don't need what I offer either but they keep trying.
I've installed w11 on my machine no problem. The warning is just a gimmick.
i will never upgrade to 11. i would rather pay 3.99 per month to get an actually good windows.
why not get a windows xp style OS with fast performance?
I just checked, and over 60% of computers using Windows are on version 10, less than 36% on version 11. They are not going to get all those Windows 10 users to switch before October next year.
Thankfully, I upgraded to Linux a long time ago.
I have a 7th Gen i7, it has TPM 2.0 in the BIOS, it has 32Gb RAM and a 2Tb SSD. Microsoft says this PC is not supported. It's faster and more powerful than some of the crap laptops and computers available today, that are Win 11 compatible. go figure …………………..If it wasn't for 2 applications I use that require Windows I'd be out of this sh!thole. 4 years until retirement… can I use 10 for that long….. I think so…
