  1. It should not have been released in such condition. On Series X, it borders on unplayable. Lots of bugs, you can't look around with the mouse. Custom settings must always be re-entered. Missions often cannot be completed due to bugs.

  2. lol i still use P3Dv3 or v4 and X plane i never buy this new one coz it never hit the spot on the very first time for me those old sims still works good… But yeah if you want everything grafic wise the simulation is far aways from that kind a immersion and they are far from reality still its a hard call but i understand the limits also and they are tring there best for it hope we will see something soon or later but my bet is same X-Plane or lockheed martin prepar3d those are the 2 best for sumulation for me..

  3. Thanks for a great and accurate review. I'm sticking to 2020 for now, with its 280GB install with all my scenery and aircraft! At lest I get quick loads, no LOD issues and can even play offline and get good graphics… Maybe I'll upgrade to 2024 (sometime late 2025 after it's baked enough to be worthwhile)…

  4. For me the biggest difference was the price. Here where I live, it is literally DOUBLE what I paid for the full FS2020. And with over a thousand addons that I have, I see absolutely NO reason to buy the new one.

  5. Flightsim releases with poor performance and broken? Horrible

Stalker 2 released with poor performance and broken? Itโ€™s the greatest thing ever

  6. I'm going to wait until well into the new year and even then not sure I would move across. Since NVIDIA drivers 566.14 came out I have seen a big FPS and performance boost on my 4080 with MFS2020. I would just be happy if ASOBO brought the updated Bing maps into 2020 instead of trying to use 3rd party Google/Bing Map mods that have caused me more trouble than it was worth.

  7. I was so excited and pre ordered this months ago which came out in the UK 4 pm tried for seven hours reinstalled it three times thinking it was me first stuck at 97 % . Finally game started only to be told I was in a Q . I couldn't even start the game the excitement turned to frustration and then to anger . So put in for a refund, which they paid back two days later . I'm not going to rebuy , Microsoft dropped the ball on this one it shouldnt of even been released if it wasn't ready , they knew how many had pre-ordered and how many 2020 simmers might of transferred and how many gamers would want to play . And those lucky enough to get to play had missions and content missing . Shame on you Microsoft

  8. Anybody can explain why recommended specs jumps from a 6 cores cpu to a 8 cores of the same gen?, is Microsoft telling us that game uses more than 6 cores and thay improves framerate?.
I seriously DON'T BELIEVE THAT. usually specs are bullshiet

  9. I am with you, it deserves its current, negative reviews. It's unfinished, buggy and now seeing the fact that my hardware isn't fully utilized is a new and heavy disappointment. Thanks for your insights. Asobo, Microsoft, they collectively focused on the wrong things.

But to completely call this a simcade, that's unfair in my opinion. Just by comparing 2024 to 2020, feeling the plane, even the friction of the tyres over the tarmac, knowing what data they use to simulate the effects of the environment on the plane in both sims, you can't call this simcade. That's like saying MSFS right now is like the Gran Turismo or Forza in terms of simulation depth, and I just don't agree with that idea. Also, saying you "miss the old days of FSX" and then following it up with how physics are not all there in 2024, as if to say they were great in the old days, that's just wild to me.

I just saw you play this shortly as if it was a simcade, pulling out an Xbox controller like a casual.

You wanna compare this to Microsoft Flight, perhaps? Now that was a simcade money grab in flight sim clothes.

  10. The reasoning behind streaming data, does make sense in terms of scalability. But its an over-leveraged method, meaning otherwise frivolous issues and bottle-necks become game-breaking.

  11. Bang goes that idea. I too started on FS on the schools Apple II in '82 when I bought my first computer, a TRS80 clone. Bought the sim for the Amiga 2000 when I bought the second one into our country, was a long wait for it to arrive. Internet speed in the South Pacific is not flash so performance would be worse than you get.

  12. My MSFS2024 crashed after completing the DA62 tornado mission. I got S grade in the mission but crashed before loading the Headquarters. My reputation dropped from B(near A) to C after restarting. Spent alot of time grinding this and now alot of missions are unlocked.

  13. You are right, I'm airlines captain. I agree with you. 2020 I believe is better, at least you don't need to be connected to the internet, and at the time of setting up some sceneries for my study, although the visual enhancement of this laters MSFSMs is so nice, I have found that is a lot more easy to set the environment on the old Sim 2004. and I use that version more frequently because is easier to setup compare to the new versions of msfs. It saves a lot of time.

  14. Been flying Fs since FS2004 but did try MSFS 2 in 1985 as a child. FS2024 should of been an update to 2020, not a new game on its own. They retired 2020 way too early and force people to re-buy 100's and 1000's of dollars of DLC. Also I do not agree with cloud based content. Give us the hard drive option. I am not going to buy it after refunding it. They can have it.. They career mode is nothing exciting either. The AI generated voices are horrible and repeat themself. You would think they could of gotten the masses of Ms employees to do voice lines. Its a complete step backwards.

  15. Doing realtime cloud streaming is asking for trouble, even for a big company that doesn't specialize in it. I heard they had a ddos issue, they really should have done it locally and have it use like 200gb coz storage is cheaper anyway

  16. I found 2020 more of a letdown because most of the buttons on aircraft that you would expect to work, were inop. and multiplayer was not what I had expected either. Would be nice to have Co-op where both of you could go in a cockpit.
