I'm totally fine with my 21.3 version. I think I'll wait a couple of months to upgrade.
Nemo has a bug that no one has noticed, when you download several files from Outlook email, they are downloaded compressed. When you unzip them, Nemo does not show the thumbnails. I was able to reproduce the error on several computers. As additional information, the mini strips of the decompressed files that were downloaded from Outlook recently can be viewed later. 3 hours or so, this problem does not exist in Linux Mint cinnamon 20.3.
Outlook email is important because if we want to bring more users to Linux Mint, many of these new users use this email for their work. In my case, unfortunately, I am forced to use Outlook at the university where I work as a teacher. I installed Linux Mint cinnamon for eight friends at work, but upon seeing this error in Nemo where the thumbnails do not appear when unzipping the files downloaded from Outlook, they wanted to return to Windows. To prevent them from returning to Windows, I installed thunar as a file manager to that they can work without problems which was a momentary solution.
I share the gibhub link where the problem is detailed

Thor –
Is the move from 21.3 to 22 for Ubuntu based Mint only ?
– Can we apply it to the Debian based LMDE-6 system as well ?
Thanks for your post. I wondered what it was like.
I took the nuclear option. Ellen Ripley from Alien ~
"I say nuke the whole site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
So far ~ loving it.
I did find the links and shortcuts and everything, for the calculator, have gone missing.
If you search up the gnome-calculator, it's still there, but it doesn't appear on any menus or anything. Or the Add Widgets applet for the panels.
I created a desktop shortcut / launcher for it, and then dropped it onto the panel. I haven't got around to fixing the menu yet, not sure it's worth the trouble.

Strong suggestion, from my bare metal install ~
You get to a point on the first boot, and the habit / instinct is to go do a complete system update right there. Update manager ~ install everything.
Hold off for a minute.
Go open the Control Panel > Driver Manager > and get the relevant nVidia driver. Install, reboot ~ then run the Update Manager.
Why?
Because if you're on the New-Vo driver, and you load the 6.8.0-39-generic x86_64 kernel, then your video (on this old GTX-750 anyway) will be broken, and then you'll simply have to start over.
Yes, I went through that about 3 or 4 times until I figured out a work-around.
I don't think that's a Mint issue, I think that's between the New-Vo people and the kernel people, but I wouldn't really know. Slightly above my pay-grade. If you get to 1st boot, run the driver manager and update that first, from the new-vo driver to the nVidia driver. Makes the rest of your day much much simpler and less stressful.
Isn't using Timeshift a backup?
I would do a fresh install. But if you do the upgrade I would highly highly recommend backing up your data. Remember to backup any custom fonts, icons, themes, etc. ssh keys too.
My install from 21.2 to 22 Linux Mint keeps erroring with the repositories. I tool a screen shot but can't attach anything here
Thanks for the video! I'm still on Mint 21.3 so I will upgrade to 22 soon using your tutorials. 🙂
Interesting about Nvidia drivers. Would there be any mileage in changing to the open source driver before setting off on this update and then reset it back after?
Thanks for sharing. In case it helps if anyone finds the system font is changed from the one used on their version 21.3, just go to software manager and search for fonts-ubuntu-classic and install, after reboot the system interface font will be back to previous Mint. For me it's much more readable.
Thank You
