  1. 100% don’t agree. If you love it, buy it and run it for 10 years or more. I’m still in my 1998 Jeep XJ purchased second hand in β€˜99 and it meets all my around town needs like it did 25 years ago. Love the seat position, the utility, the simplicity.

  2. I have an Equinox and I think you're crazy for thinking interior is better in kia. They have some nice features like cam for signal but overall quality of materials with the exception of seats go to Chevy and it costs 35% less lol. Kia is nice but c'mon

  3. Tried to lease one of these from 4 different dealers. All 4 had hidden BS fees that forced me to walk away. Once again unscrupulous dealers ruin what is a great business plan from Kia/Hyundai USA.

  4. So..here's the thing, I'm sure these are great cars, but in a two income household buying even a $35k vehicle at today's interest rates is out of the question. We're driving whatever we bought prepandemonium and we're gonna be finding ways to keep them running for 10,12,15 years… Not by choice… Just from being proved out. $75k for a soccer mom/dad mobile? $55k!!!? Keep it, I've spent more time writing this rant than I did watching the review, the only thing more depressing than the price points of new cars is my existing bank balance. Inflation doubled cost of living in Canada, wtf is buying $75k cars still??? Offshore money banks?

  5. We got an EV9 Land 2 months ago and its fantastic. No problems with head toss/ride quality on the Land trim with a fatter tire than the GT Line. Got a great lease then, seems like the deals have gotten even better since August.

  6. I don’t understand your hype for Lucid as if it’s the peak of automotive engineering. Anyway, if this Kia is only good because it’s a throwaway 2-year lease, no amount of door buttons or cornering grip is going to redeem it

  7. Just started leasing one of these a few weeks ago. We absolutely love it. Did the two year lease, got 21,000 off MSRP, no money down. You nailed the review, everything you said was spot on. Previous car was a Model Y, we do not miss it at all.

  8. It's $5k USD and $400 USD per month AND you have to do mandatory maintenance out of your pocket (quite expensive and you can't skip it) AND insurance is 50% higher than on comparable gas twin: Telluride. AND turns out if you read fine print taxes are not included in those $400 and $5k USD down. So for Canadian perspective that's $6500 down and $520 per month NOT including taxes, insurance, maintenance AND that is AWD Land trim, not the top trim. AND you are limited by 10k miles per year. AND you'll pay wear and tear lease return fee (can get expensive). ALL IN for 36 months lease WITH taxes and fees and insurance – you are looking at $40k CAD to throw out and own nothing in 3 years. Is it worth it? Probably not. For that money you can BUY 1 year old Telluride with low miles and it will be yours paid off for many more years to come. But to each its own. Oh did I mention in winter highway range drops to mere 140 miles? Good luck on any road trip, you'll need it. I'd also not park it inside garage to not burn down your house and your family while you sleep.

  9. I don’t know whether this was a deliberate marketing experiment, or it just happened naturally.

The experiment proved that building an EV with INTERNAL space approaching that of a typical family minivan, and leasing it out with $20K discount off traditionally estimated MSRP, in a US state producing a surplus of cheap electricity, are the secrets to selling as many of them as you can make.

This is interesting, isn’t it? In Europe, there is much higher use of EVs in Norway, than, say, in Spain. Norway has very sizable government subsidies for EVs, going back for almost two decades now, and a surplus of relatively cheap electricity.

So, maybe the image of California as the ideal EV destination is just wrong? State support for EVs is pretty weak compared to Colorado, electricity prices are about 2x of those in Colorado, and as a result EVs are just not as great value proposition in California as they are in Colorado.

  10. We recently leased a Land trim with $0 down and $630 per month for 24 months. We love it! Just got out of a 2019 Subaru Ascent that we bought brand new and had tons of issues with it. This is our first Kia and we absolutely love it. Great family car for my wife and our 2 kids. It's also hilarious how fast it is for how big it is too.

  11. As someone currently surviving the aftermath of Hurricane Helene with my Ioniq 5 keeping my fridge cold, my devices charged and allowing me to cook (including easily reheating things in the microwave), I think you missed a big benefit of eGMP – Vehicle to Load. So for a $300-ish lease not only do you get a great car, but you get a battery backup for your house. After going through this experience I will never NOT own a vehicle that can do this, and I'm already contemplating leasing an EV9 in addition to the I5. Great video as usual!
