Easy fix change permission to anyone or everyone, depending on your particular linux distro, ubuntu, mint, lubuntu, kubuntu, all slightly different, basically you need to grant yourself permission to execute the jar file. i suppose for security purposes in linux, jar files are not, by default, given permission to be run by anyone at all
