  1. After installing Windows 11, I couldn't create a local account and had to sign into my Microsoft account. Then, it forced me to create a Windows Hello PIN instead of a password because "it only works on your device", and even created my user's folder in C:Users naming it as "heheh", which is not the name I wanted the folder to have. I ultimately had to delete that user and create another user just to be able to properly get into Windows. It's absolutely ridiculous that I had to do this.

  2. The not recognizing drives is when the bios is showing your Hard Drive in Raid mode. Switch it to AHCI and then it will show. For some reason the Raid mode prevents recognition of the drive on older installers.

  3. You forgot to tell people to disable drive encryption.
It's automatic, enforced, and assumes you have a ms account.
Meaning that if you have a local account, if your system ever gets locked and asks for a bitlocker key, you will not have it, because without a ms account you simply couldn't have had it in the first place.

  4. oobebypassnro has already been not working for some weeks or months; idk if it's a region or version thing. But no matter. Also during the Windows installation, you can make a registry edit or (haven't tried this one) put in a fake email. You can easily look up and find guides for both.

  5. Suggestion of a new topic.

Short version: explain the (dodgy) market of re-certified hard drives.

Long version: I recently bought a pair of Seagate Exos X18 hard drives for my home NAS, but I noticed they had a recertified label. Double checked the page of the website where I bought it, it's stated as new. When I entered the serial number of both drivers in Seagate website, they are NOT covered by Seagate's warranty.

I then searched on several websites with similar prices, they always state as new, but checking the comments didn't take longer to find people reporting the same problems. Seems like a wide spread market tatics. By the way, the prices were not so low to immediately draw a line they would be re-certified.

How the hell should we know when a drive is REALLY new (on which case, the consumer could also count on having Seagate's warranty, which would be 5 years on this case).

Note: I live in Germany, and I only checked trusted websites: Amazon, Mindfactory, Kaufland, etc.

  6. You can also bypass the need for an online account by deliberately entering nonsense details for the Microsoft account, when the details can't be verified, you can just click Back and create a local account. Unless that has also been patched since I last used it…
