This is guide for kernel 6.11+ users, howto install NVIDIA proprietary Linux drivers (manually using .run files) and disable Nouveau driver on Fedora Linux 41. Linux Kernels 6.11+ are tested.
Currently working NVIDIA drivers are:
– 565.xx (565.57.01 BETA)
– 550.xx (550.127.05)
This guide works with NVIDIA GeForce 6/7/8/9/200/300/400/500/600/700/800/900/10/20/30/40 series cards.
This method allow you easily install / test / use different versions of NVIDIA drivers, you can test BETA drivers and switch back to stable.
This is updated version for Fedora 41 NVIDIA Drivers Install Guide
Older videos Fedora 40/39:
KDE 6 and GNOME 47 works very smoothly and quickly with latest NVIDIA 560.xx / 550.xx drivers.
I have tested this guide with NVIDIA 560.xx, 550.xx, drivers/cards on latest Fedora 40. Here I use 565.57.01 BETA version of NVIDIA drivers installer, you can always select latest stable version, beta or some other version.

Its a horrible installation only for a driver! FEDORA failed 😢
Awesome!
Isn´t there a better way? Just the commands and done?
Why not just use akmod-nvidia?
For some reason, after i edited the nvidia.conf file and rebooted, my GDM wasnt working. I was greeted with a tty terminal. And I'm unable to fix it now.
What can we do if we have selected "NO" in NVIDIA Installer run nvidia-xconfig utility and backup pre-existing X configuration?
Hi, thanks for your updated video, i just upgraded to Fedora 41, and the graphics were a little janky, so i tried to reinstall the graphics driver following your guide. I got to the point where it asked me to select proprietary or mit driver. When i selected proprietary, the screen just went blank, and there was no signal from my monitor, but the computer was still running. Has anyone else come across this problem?
Couldn´t get it to work in newest Fedora 41 + kernel 6.11 but your video helped me. Only installing it through the .run without the pre-steps you've done doesn´t work. Thanks!
any difference between intsalling via dnf? I managed to install it much easier, but my problem was that it supported only 60hz after it, though my monitor can handle up to 165. Default drivers managed 120, but if set higher – black screen. Not sure if I will install this way – will it help?
