An investigation has been launched to determine who’s recruiting illegal miners in Stilfontein, North West. National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says they’ve given the illegal miners ample time to resurface before the situation becomes dire. She adds that there are heavily armed gangs in the shaft who have prevented other miners from resurfacing.
