More illegal mineworkers have resurfaced at the Margaret shaft in Stilfontein near Klersdorp in North West following the intensification of the Vala Umgodi programme led by the South African Police Service and South African National Defence Force.
Police say the operation is ongoing and law enforcement will continue to monitor old abandoned mine shafts as more and more illegal miners resurface.
