i “tried”- Windows 11 vs Thinkpad T400 pt2

After 3 years, I finally attempt to Install Windows 11 on the Thinkpad T400. Although, I have gotten it to work as it was shown on the short but I have not shown it in a video. This video was recorded a while ago and finally decided to edit it, as your able to tell from the date on the taskbar. I do plan on making more videos and hopefully its not a long gap from this to the next video.

  1. im addicted to thinkpads i currently have an r51, r61, t460p(my fave), t530p, 600xs, the fact that dos drivers are availble let alone any other, its nice not to have to scoure vogons.
I finally went ubuntu gamepack, because 11 through a fit on my 3600x and rx5700xt….Thanks Gabe for Proton, and please let HL3 be real this time!

  2. For the failed to upgrade to Windows 11, via Windows 7, I also sometimes get the error message, on a thinkpad p50, thats unsupported, I don't think it has anything to do with hardware, just retry, and dont touch it while its rebooting.

  3. For the latest versions of 11, on the Intel side you'll need a first gen i7, or any Core i series chip from the second gen onwards. For AMD you'll need Phenom 2 or newer. No way to run it on anything older because it requires the POPCNT instruction now. Older builds of 11 will work fine, but you'll have to stick with LTSC releases to get hardware compatibility and security updates.
