  1. wait till 4d gaussian splattings arrive, which means video gaussian splatting with moving 3d volumes ! there are tons of research about it still and papers are getting published everyday. both meta internally work on them and researchers all around the world. and as a quick hint for waht futures hold up, some of these papers showed we can interact with volumes as physic objects, relight them, reteture them in real time !

  2. Gaussian Splatting is very powerful, and it's nice that Meta seems to be tapping into it. At this point this is nothing new… what we need is the ability to make our own high quality Guassian Splatting based scenes. They can be made from a HQ video, with the more detail the better… but it comes down to compute power how high quality the results turn out.

Then, beyond that, this service needs to be a social platform where you can share your spaces with friends and family, or the public, as you choose. Then, you should be able to view it simultaneously with others, with digital avatars represented in the space. Finally, there should be the ability to view the space while in an large open area so you can walk around the space instead of teleporting.
