You need to build Garrison Recreation Centers on every planet as fast as possible for an unstoppable defense fleet. Just make sure you change their aggression, so they help defend other planets.
Sins of a Solar Empire 2 was a perfect sequel π not a perfect game it has issues, but a perfect sequel. Also at around 48:30 @PotatoMcWhiskey advent does not use missiles for their long range damage only beams ^.^ the blue lines were not disappearing from your flack, they were disappearing slamming into your shields ^.^
Potato I love your videos so much so that I wish your civ and other parodox games and games like civ would be longer than 30 – 50 mins I want them 1hr long videos something I can watch and fall asleep to then wake up and go "Oh cool potato is playing on my phone"
Ugh, I was right. Every time I saw art in the game it kept jumping out at me as generic and soulless, and what do I see when I look it up? AI art. Hard pass from me, even if the game looks ok.
Thanks for putting this out! I appreciate you taking the time to edit your videos the way you do. Reducing that whole 5+ hour game into an hour long video made it so much more approachable.
Does anybody know what the immediate effect is on the strikecraft when you kill a carrier? I havent really ever noticed if they disappear or if things keep flying around for a while, like missiles
To clarify your explanation about the speeding up or slowing down of ability cooldown (and related things like Derelict Specialists at 11:39), any number in green is a buff, and every number in red is a debuff. Your overall speedup or slowdown is determined by the calculation of debuff/buff*, where both values are initially at 100. Derelict specialists adds 100% to the buff, so that goes to 200, so the time to capture wreckage is reduced to *100/200=0.5 , so it is halved as you said.
This becomes a more interesting calculation whenever there are more modifiers. For example, the Aluxian Military Observers (from the minor faction) gives a +20% ability cooldown to your capital ships, so the calculation is 100/120=0.8333 , so it's actually a 17% reduction in cooldown times. There is also a relic that gives a +50% ability cooldown. Putting that on the ship gives 100/150=0.6667 , so a 33% ability cooldown reduction. If you put both on, then you get a 100/170=0.588 factor, so a 41% ability cooldown. So the military observers only give an extra 8 percentage points, in ability cooldown timers on the relic ship, rather than the 17 percentage points on the blank ship.
I have been playing a lot of Advent lately. Their ability to improve their firepower, abilities, and (with the right upgrade) survivability through the psi power mechanic is a lot of fun. Especially watching the purple numbers go up

Doesn't this game utilise AI when making a leader? Or am I thinking of a different game

You talked me into it, Potato!

Only problem is there is no single player missions. For us dumbasses, I need an objective and or my hand held, initially. It adds to the atmosphere.
Good game. Personally I only played it once after I bought it and after somehow clocking in 20 hours I was afraid to touch it again.
Glad Im not the only one who appreciates the TEC Enclaves turtle approach. ^^
And yes, Kols rule! ^^
need more likes?
would love to see you do this same map setup with the other two factions.

I've been keeping an eye on this game. Might pull the trigger after all.
Just got all of the civ 6 dlcs for $16 usd. Been enjoying the new stuff since I've got 1k hours in the base game.

Ultimately you can deploy 4 starbases in the star gravity wells.
Maybe 5 with your TEC faction. (As in SoaSE1)

TLDR: Math is fun! π
Set playback speed to 0.75. So much better π
