How to Install VMware Workstation Player 2023
In this video I will show how to install Virtual Machine Workstation.
VMware Workstation is a virtualization software that allows you to run multiple operating systems on a single physical machine. Here’s how you can install it:
Step 1. Download the Installer:
Visit the official VMware Workstation website to download the installer. You might need to create or log in to your VMware account to access the download. Make sure to download the version that matches your operating system (Windows or Linux).
STep 2. Run the Installer:
Once the installer is downloaded, locate the file and double-click to run it. On Windows, this will be an executable (.exe) file, and on Linux, it might be a shell script (.sh) that you need to make executable.
Step 3. Installation Wizard:
The installer will launch an installation wizard. Follow these steps:
a. Welcome Screen: Click “Next” to proceed.
b. End User License Agreement (EULA): Read the license agreement and accept the terms if you agree. Click “Next.”
c. User Experience Improvement Program: Choose whether you want to participate in VMware’s user experience improvement program. Make your selection and click “Next.”
d. User Account Control (UAC) (Windows Only): If you’re on Windows and the UAC prompt appears, click “Yes” to allow the installer to make changes to your system.
e. Custom Setup (Optional): You can choose the installation location and options, but the default settings are usually fine for most users. Click “Next” to continue.
f. Product Updates (Optional): Decide whether you want to check for updates during installation. Click “Next.”
g. Shortcuts: Choose whether you want to create shortcuts for VMware Workstation on your desktop or Start menu (Windows). Click “Next.”
h. Ready to Install: Review your settings and click “Install” to begin the installation process.
Step 4. Installation Progress:
The installer will copy files and install VMware Workstation on your system. This process might take a few minutes.
Step 5. Installation Complete:
Once the installation is finished, you’ll see a completion message. Click “Finish” to exit the installer.
Step 6. First Launch:
Find the VMware Workstation icon (either on your desktop, Start menu, or in your applications list) and double-click it to launch the application.
Step 7. License Key (if required):
If prompted, enter your VMware Workstation license key. You might have received this key when you downloaded the software. Follow the prompts to activate the product.
Step 8. Ready to Use:
After completing the activation (if necessary), you should now be ready to start creating and managing virtual machines using VMware Workstation.
Remember that the installation process might vary slightly depending on your operating system and the version of VMware Workstation you’re installing. Always refer to the official documentation or guides provided by VMware for the most accurate and up-to-date instructions.
