How to INSTALL linux from usb (2024)

Hello Conrads! Today I am continuing the linux how to by showing you how to install linux onto your PC from the live usb created in part 1. THIS IS PART 3.

YOU READY TO INSTALL AN OPERATING SYSTEM???

I keep seeing a lot of people curious in ditching windows 10/11, and interested in trying out linux without having to install. Wanting to try linux for free.

Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, virtually all large linux distros can run what’s called a “LIVE” environment. The OS will boot off of a USB and load an installable version of the desktop. It will let you see all the features without having to do anything permanent to your computer.

The first step is in this VIDEO:

The second step Is in THIS video:

The third step, the actual installation, is in this video. Get ready for some rip-roaring times.

You can get fedora media writer here:

You can download an ISO of some of the more popular Linux OS’s here:
Fedora:
Linux Mint:
Ubuntu:
Debian:

Any of these will work with fedora media writer.

Questions? Ask them in the comments.

For reference, the system is a Dell Optiplex 790 with a modified A22 bios (I had to add the NMVE drivers to the bios and re-flash) This would be a lot easier on a newer PC. Any computer newer than about 2015 should install much easier than what you see in this video.
