Wow you can talk fast .
As someone with "245 apps found" on my heavily modified Windows install I can say that Windows is still fast and snappy. Program looks about as useful as Ninite (to say a ton of time) and it's a huge shame you didn't cover that too.
Sidenote: With Geek Uninstaller or Revo Uninstaller you can remove a lot of the bloatware from an already installed Windows 10/11
This is why I love the EU sometimes, you can just uninstall stuff (like Edge) the normal way (:
have been doing this since xp pro hahahaha
Great vid. I only wish I knew about 2 yrs ago.
My question is, can this be used to upgrade a PC from Windows 10 to 11 and bypass the TPM requirement?
Ahhh damn you now i have to reinstall windows and all the games again hahaha. Thx for the video. This is gonna get saved for future reference
Whenever I install Windows I physically unplug all the drives except for C:.
Otherwise Windows will sprinkle install files onto your extra drives, making them hard to move or remove.
I like and use Chris Titus Tech's Windows debloat tool. I use it to make a custom Windows 11 debloated ISO with ALL the latest drivers for my system already installed by click one checkbox while making my Windows ISO using the MicroWin tab in his powershell tool.
I just use CCleaner to remove/uninstall most of the bloatware.
been using this for awhile now. I have noticed that it does fail with some newer Dell computers.
For anyone wondering, If you want to debloat Windows after you've already installed a regular version, you can use Revo Uninstaller to remove basically anything.
now can we have 'how to remove, uninstall and reclaim the space AI uses to spy on you and send data for companies to sell to other companies'? i dont want copilot or recall or any of this AI rubbish that is less effective than me typing what i want to search for like before AI. and i want the OS to occupy as little space as possible, and not set up huge AI databases of data on my ssd space that i cant put games on because of, and which data gets sent to home base to be analysed and monetised in order to a) get around cookie laws where i live about privacy and b) get around the problem that i dont have any social media or a smartphone so am much harder to mine for data to sell to advertisers.
Awesome video and helpful almost any or everyone!
Greg Tech Tips
ooh, i haven't reinstalled Windows in quite a few years and didn't know such websites to customize the installation existed now. i do already have utilities to decrapify Windows after the install, but doing some of that in advance should be useful
Just use linux if you want something lightweight, you can never remove all the crap from windows.
How about non fresh install? Is there a software/easier way to remove them? Tbh uninstalling one by one is kinda annoying
Nah bro, I'll just run Linux. It's worked for me since 2018. I'll stick with it.
Going to try this but will need o365 and OneDrive for work unfortunately..
Great tutorial, it is way better to create just xml file and use original ISO, than downloading something premade, because this can be sketchy. It depends on what type of games you play, if multiplayer then Linux is out of the equation for most of the titles for sure, but you can for sure play on Linux in a ton of games these days without a problem, or with some small things that sometimes can be fixed sometimes not. If you are mostly single player gamer, Linux is a viable option. I know because I am one.
I have used Rofus for setting up USB flash drive but I have seen that when a new version of Windows comes out it reinstalls all the changes you have made! Any suggestions?
This is the only way to use Win11, unless you have access to Win11 Enterprise IOT LTSC…that's a seriously stripped down version which runs fast.
Reminfds me of the good old nLite days
Can you do this after windows is installed somehow?
great video will do this on my older i7 4790k which is still good for an office box.
false, you can game with linux
Windiws 11 ltsc is the best
8:50 Incorrect, Linux is getting a lot better thanks to Proton. But certain anti-cheats cause issues.
You should try it out to see how Linux would fit you today in 2024. WIth a Distro like PopOS or even Bazzaite
I always delete over half of the junk on windows. I use software programs called Revo uninstaller, then one called "everything" ,and free windows registry repair to clean it up. You have to be very careful what you delete.
3:17 Always showing file extensions is a quite important one, since a lot of people get scammed through that.
awsome… how can we get DEBLOATEd win11 that already installed?
The best debloated Windows is GNU/Linux. There has never been a better time to finally take the dive. Come on in, the water's fine.
Install Linux, done 😁
I just wanted to make a different comment, I am using Mac OS on my M4 Pro Mac Mini as my daily computer at home. I will use this script to install Windows 11 again on my gaming PC and will be using it for games only. And just a heads up to all users, if you use this process, you will need to purchase a new Windows key, if you activate Windows by the install recognizing the hardware.
I would like to see performance difference between the custom and "Bloated Windows"
In the unattended generator you have the choice between to use compact OS or not to use compact OS, what is the difference.
For Windows, we have been using a 31 year old File System, NTFS, that has not seen any significant updates, at least that I am aware of. The file system alone is something that, although it is stable, is not particularly fast nor efficient, compared to what an improved Windows file system could bring. Also, I do not agree, I thought Windows Vista was a really good OS, as long as you gave it 4GB of ram and used the 64 Bit version, games ran great at that point.
Try CCT Chris Titus Tech Debloat tool. Works like wonders. I am currently using ReviOS. Experiencing 35% performance increase.
This looks very thorough, defintily play with it. I've been using Tiny10 and Tiny11 for some systems together with Rufus, any thoughts on those?
amazing thanks
One of the best video you done. ^^ BIG THUMBS UP!!!
Thank you Greg for uploading this video. I’m about to reinstall my pc after a few years of useless bloat being added and gigabytes of storage being wasted on unused applications or features!
Building son's PC this weekend, so this is a BIG thumbs up!
Not a fan of this when just cleaning up a fresh install by removing what you don't need and tweaking settings takes all of a few minutes, but the script they have in their github to move the active hours around via scheduled task is cool so I pulled that and set it up.
Every day is a School day. Thanks G.
Just announced 2 days ago by Valve that 17000 games are verified playable on the steam deck, which means that these games are likely playable on a more generic Linux PC using steam and proton. You should really give Linux gaming a try and make a video about it. Just a suggestion.
