here is a tip how to get into the root for installing some stuff which won't work globally or won't work at all if you install into user home; cd ../ cd ../ cd ../ until you see roo@kali instead of kali@kali. also you should log in as root anyway to create the first user, but these days kali creates one for you (called 'kali', not 'root') but the real superuser exists and is called 'root' and password used to be 'toor' but is not anymore so i cannot get into root, as some clever dick at Kali thought it would be wise to remove our priviledges t this!!! The superuser is still there and is called 'root' but the password is no longer 'toor'.. CHEERS TO THE GEN-Z MILLENIALS AT KALI FOR THE LACK OF FORESIGHT AND HINDSIGHT!
i use this video every time i forget. however, would like to ask how i can boot into persistent mode so it actually REMEMBERS THE APPS I INSTALLED AND FILES AND NEW USER? because i have aproblem of a 1tb ssd with kali on it and 6gb of storage for kali, and updates wont go anymore as 6 gb full and 122 gb doing noting on the disk, which should be part of my kali storage for my pictures, documents, videos etc.. jeez I have six Linux distros and every time i attempt to install to a drive partition on pc or mac, or use the usb with persistent mode, nahh.. none of them work. Meaning i am still having to use apple mac os, windows os pc, and no point in using kali because i want it as my daily operating system, not amnesiac
