Perfect timing! Just waiting for a few more pieces to be delivered for my build. I really didnโt want to fork over 180 cad for Windows so the key link is great too. Why do you prefer Windows Pro over the Home version? Thx for the great tutorial.
I'm happy with my windows 7
Choose World for your language, then switch to your language after you get everything set up you will thank me later. Because you chose world the advertisers donโt know what region youโre in so they will not come after you then if you do a local account and change your language later youโve gotten off Scott free
I have 10 right now, a licensed version, if move to 11, can I retain license? Reuse same key?
can I use the same process when upgrading from windows 10 to 11using a USB stick
Thank you for going through the process step by step, always good to be reminded of pitfalls that can easily occur if you rush through. One question I have is when you used the AMD software would it be preferable to update the chipset drivers first and then the Adrenalin gpu software? I noticed that AMD was showing as 'Retry' when windows was downloading the updates! Thanks again Mike and Kath as going to be using this tutorial very soon on my ITX build ๐๐บ
This has to be best straightforward tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mike. Great and clear instructions. Just to clarify, if you have a branded PC such as HP or Dell, rather than download drivers from the AMD or Intel website, should you use their driver utilities like Supportassist instead as these drivers are apparently customised for their makes? Thanks again.
Nice video Mike
i tried to install windows 11 but it said it could not install because of some reason in the bios and i had to install windows 10. my pc fulfills the windows 11 requirements. is it something to do with particular usb drive? because it detected the installation media in bios but wasn't able to run it
Thank you Mike!
G'day Mike & Kath,
Very nice complete Instalation Guide, while you skipped the waiting time so many "guides" on YouTube also rush with just basic tips not showing the actual steps & how the PC will react.
I do like how AMD has designed the "Automatic Drivers" when you have AMD CPU + GPU it updates everything with 1 instalation.
Another tip which may be helpful to some, 1st thing I do after install (even before Driver install) is go to One Drive – Settings – (Tab 1) Uncheck Automatically Start with Windows – Close One Drive, I've had chats with people in comments saying that when they have "Uninstalled" One Drive it has sneakily come back during a Windows update, I found leaving it installed but dennied Auto Start it doesn't get to work in future.
Thanks for this guide, very useful!
windows 11 is way better than any earlier version
Hi, Mike. Yet another highly detailed instructional video. That said, there's no way I'll ever go back to Windows 11. It's just to polluted with their, "features". Even after deleting Widgets, Cortona, Copilot, and so on, parts of them would rise up from the deep like a kraken and mess with my games. For example, while playing GTA Online, if I accidently hit the Windows key, whenever I would press the "W" key to make my character move forwards, the Widgets screen would pop up. So freaking annoying, because I'd have to close the game and restart the system before reloading the game. As hot is this summer has been, and me stuck down stairs unable to get to my Air-conditioned bedroom up stairs I don't need any more frustrations. Tomorrow and Wednesday its's supposed to be 36c and feel like 43c. Don't be surprised if I melt. LOL Cheers.
Mike Just a few days back I installed windows 11 in my Pc , I didn't connect to any wifi or network , it had a option for limited experience and selected next and made just a user name , and after complete installation i connected to internet and updated every thing it works flawlessly without Microsoft account
Great update for this issue! Much easier than previous methods. Thanks Mike and Kath!
Too bad most of my softwares I use run on Windows because I feel like it is becoming more and more bloated with unnecessary feature for work usage. I'd like to have 3 kind of installations. One that would say " Let me customize everything about my instalation", the other would say "install the strict minimum for Windows to run" and a third one that would say "install everything"
Still dreaming..๐
Well now i know where to go next year. when Microsoft forces me to install Win 11 ๐
Thanks for the great How To. many will need this next year ๐
