Same as everyone else here.
After finished this step i can use with new name but when i open again kali i can't open with new username and old user name too.I can open only with root how can i fix.

I CANT LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT NOW IT ONLY SHOWS TERMINAL
Hey, I changed my username succesfully but when i login with my changed username, just terminal appears. When i login with root, it works normally. How can i fix it?
it works for me
After pkill -u command it gets closed and restart to login page
And killing the process and pkill it's still running in different process number
I kill if for more then 30 times but it's still running
After pkill username still running
this didnt work brought up the library so the code you gave us isnt correct
After changing the username, the default user is taking forever to login and is not functioning. What should I do?
that kill command made it so my login no longer appears.
I can see the acct through terminal only with my other user with cat /etc/passwrd
but i can't even log into it through terminal—instead of going to the account I'm wanting to log into,
it logs into the next account on my user list, i guess my default now.
in the cat /etc/passwrd, it still has the old name, just with the new name branched off.
idk if that is how it's supposed to be–i was wanting the name to be overwritten 100%.
but, it did briefly change the name in terminal while I was still on the account, and when I rebooted, that's when the account disappeared from the login.
thanks a lot my man!!
I did all the steps but when i tried to login as root it's says not the good password and after 3 times trying it goes back to the default user. what can I do?
