How to Attach a Host Physical Hard Drive to a Hyper-V Virtual Machine to Copy Files
If you have files on the hard drive of your Hyper-V Desktop host that you want to share with your virtual machines, you can easily create a new virtual hard drive that attaches to your host’s physical hard drive and copies the files over to the new virtual disk. This process does not actually attach the drive to the VM to make it shared but rather clones the drive to a VHDX file that you can then attach to your virtual machines. Once the process is complete, you can add or remove files from the physical drive or the new virtual disk and it will not affect the other one in any way.
