Unemployment is not the case in this regard. I'm from kanana township and can confirm more than 90% of illegal miners are illegal immigrants especially from Lesotho and they terrorise our community. Just last night i heard more than 30 gunshots near my place, even though unemployment is the issue in the area, however, is the the case in this issue. In the past illegal immigrants from lesotho and other regions came to kanana and worked in construction as a mean of survival and they were accepted in the community, however recently, those illegal immigrants have resorted to illegal mining and crime instead of construction and other jobs. Life has become even more dangerous since the arrival of zama zamas, and i am fully behind operation vala mkhoti, those criminals should be arrested or face the consequences of illegal behaviour and terrorising the community of kanana in the name of justice, amen.
