not a fan of such feature, but I'd suggest further developing the Snapshots retency policies – something like Synology does with their smart snapshot system
Looks quite handy, is this only going to be available for copilot pc in the future?
You can do all of that on the phone. No NPUs needed.
So recall works just like a how a browser works which is what people use 90% of the time anyways
Looks pretty good though. Not sure why there is a so much hate out there for this feature which could be turned off / un installed by simple click 🤷
I don't know if you mentioned, but did you compare battery life with Recall on vs. off?
I think people are being overly worried on the whole idea
Like it all happens on device and nothing is sent to MS, (and if anything is sent, people can know pretty easily) also it ain't the first time actually, as back in Win10 Timeline was a thing until they removed the feature in a certain update
I know MS isn't exactly known for privacy, but that's something they may get in deep trouble in if they actually collect and see the screenshots from users despite the claims…
kind a useless
I love windows, but if recall is not removable on the final version, I'll switch to Linux
Boycott this Spyware!
Many expressing concern forget that there is an option to turn it off.. 😂
This is such a nifty feature! I was impressed by how much security is improved compared to the day it was first introduced. It wasn’t really a complicated thing, it’s just an app capturing screenshots just like Google app does when Im launching it on my phone but in real time. I can already imagine people using this app to be much more efficient working with their documents and office work.
Nothing good comes from this.
I can see the 4% growing already….
Good stuff. I've been enthusiast about this feature since day one.
I am happy they've worked on the security and privacy bits. That was a sketchy start.
The most surprising reveal in this video is that someone pays for a twitter pro account.
I don't see the point of this given the security risks.
If MS doesn't provide a way to disable this "feature," I will upgrade my last home Windows machine to Linux Mint LMDE without hesitation.
management that doesn't trust their remote workers need this
They should recall this feature
NEXT-GEN KEYLOGGER
this is magic.
Windows hello is getting a refresh, hopefully they’ll make it automatically disappear when identified.
I cannot express enough how much of a security risk this is. No matter how "secure" it is. Microsoft created it so it is not going to be good.
Might be useful for those with amnesia, severe disabilities or brain injuries – that's about it.
Who asked for this? I don't find it a particularly useful feature.
im gonna disable this the moment windows updates to 24H2.
Recall = No thanks.
"… Type of device or thing, like a dinosaur…" So many questions 😂
I can't tell, but is this another PWA???
please switch to linux LMAO
2:00 pressing OK after identifying a face is mandatory to prevent hackers from faceing when the user is off guard. please do NOT give ms idea to remove this ok thing. bloody users smh
modern windows is trash
What does Recall do if you play a full screen Game?
Great video! Super interesting. Recall is turning out to be so much more useful than I expected
I think that any measure they put in place is irrelevant till they give you the option to process the captures locally. They will always be sent to a Microsoft server with the "promise" that is encrypted and they won't/can't look at it. It's like locking all the doors in your house and then giving the key to a random person.
I originally thought this would be a very memory intensive feature that would bog down the PC. but then when I thought about it a little. It is just screenshots of open windows that are hyperlinked to the specific app and location in the app. It is kind of simple for such an innovative feature…. privacy concerns be damned.
Seems niche and invaluable at the same time
