The police here get rocks and full water bottles through at them. And they take it.
Those Brits are being very poorly advised by their lawyers that they have the right to a trial by jury for criminal cases.
There are parallels in English case law that tyrannical laws end up being annulled or effectively voided by juries repeatedly refusing to convict.
They need to put their trust in the jury and even if the defendant is clearly breaching a law, the jury have the power to find "not guilty".
