Forging the Iron Oak – Part IX

Welcome to the finale of the Iron Oak sculpture! In this video I shape the copper leaves in preparation to adorn the steel tree with a copper canopy. This commission has been a joy to be a part of, and I am really proud to bring you all along the journey. I am excited to be finished with this piece, but I am even more excited for what’s to come next.

This sculpture was commissioned by Mission San Antonio located here in California. This large 12 ft. sculpture commemorates the many donors who supported the Mission’s recent retrofit. Mission San Antonio de Padua – established third in founding order of the 21 California Missions on July 14, 1771. Today, the Mission sits serenely against the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range, appearing much as it did upon its founding.
