Bertone is a legendary Italian coachbuilder and since 1912 they have consistently and repeatedly shaped the luxury automotive industry.
This is a very special interview.
It was a great privilege to be able to interview both Bertone’s Project Leader & Design Manager, Giovanni Sapio and Bertone’s Design Lead, Andrea Mocellin, during the unveiling of the company’s first ever, ultra limited edition hypercar at Top Marques in Monaco!
Apart from the GB110 being the first hypercar for Bertone and an incredible milestone for the company, which in 2020 made it’s great comeback under its’ new leadership from Mauro Ricci and Jean-Frank Ricci, it’s also a revolutionary platform for the company and a very brave attempt to dynamically penetrate the very niche market of ultra bespoke hypercars.
It is a blend of beautiful proportions, design pedigree, Italian traditional design, technological innovation and unmatched performance.
It packs a 5.2l V10, and with the help of two turbochargers it smashes the 0-300 kmh in a staggering 12.9 s, whilst delivering 1124 hp.
The surprises don’t stop there, because Bertone in partnership with Select Fuel have allowed it’s power unit to run on sustainable fuel, made from plastic!
If that doesn’t impress you, which it very much should, consider that Bertone was able to produce the complete, ready-to-run product within 2 years!
