  1. This guy is talking facts though especially with the point that either way you got to abide to traffic laws with cars tbh however that would mean we would need people to do training still to ride. 250 watts is better than 0 watts but maybe by paying loads to get the same output is kinda annoying however there is the positive of putting a less input😀. I think though aslong as you don't ride it "furiously " like the law says 😅😂then you should not have it confiscated and destroyed like if you are pedalling/ on empty roads(not putting yourself or anyone in danger ) or like offroad/private roads at a reasonable speed(unless it is really fully private land with permission then fast is ok) like not too fast also on bike lanes you have a ebike speed limit of 15 mph then you should be good is what i would propose as a better law code and you should not need training if you are doing that but if you are using it on main roads where it may be busy or with the occasional car or two and you need to go quick to be with the speed limit then you should do training

  2. I think the max speed should be around the 25mph mark, an age restriction and the throttle/walk assist to 20mph. 30+ mph…do your CBT and buy a 50cc moped or motorbike. Here I have hills that are 35-40% and my bike doesn't stand a chance of getting up them, carrying 15-16 stone. You're 100% correct on the other vehicle speeds…cars and motorbikes that can do between 140 and 200mph, yet the national speed limit is 70mph. There's no difference and no matter what the actual speed capable, it's the same principle as cars and motorcycles, just because we could, doesn't mean we will. More torque to get up hills much needed, with my ass on my bike, it isn't going to do breakneck speeds. I prefer distance over speed, but to ride safely, we need the extra speed to stop tailbacks on certain roads, where in reality, it poles people behind in motor vehicles off and they often overtake dangerously out of frustration. Great video and I for one am hoping for massive changes on the ebike scene and for those making ip the rules, without being riders themselves and experiencing what we have to contend with, to take note of the real world and not sit in their little bubble and dish out laws that just aren't right

  3. They should make it like a fishing licence for e-mobilities and bike riders. A payment for using the road and contributing to road upkeep. You use it so you pay something towards its infrastructure and maintenance.
Why should its use be free to some and others have to pay for it? If you want better roads and bike paths pay for a small licence.
Licence the person to ride annually. That also goes for e-scooter riders. People who break the law can be fined and their licence to ride suspended. Accidents are caused by riders!!!!!!

  4. The point you’re missing is, every idiot with the front wheel in the air is spoiling it for everyone else, I agree with your frustration but at least they are acting and responding to change, if certain categories are registered then idiots will be found, yes there will be a cost but it’s worth it.
Riding off road lest look at it this way, if someone was in your back garden you would not like it so instead of pissing people off looking for loopholes in the law to rip up the land go and join a motor Ross club but oh you have to pay for that.
The rules change because people do what they want, the reason I want a bike it to zoom to work and stuff which will be cheaper than my Tenere but when I see a group of bikers and Eb’s behaving like wasps, doing burn outs on a roundabout because there’s 10 of them you just think why? You’re just making the law press down on bikes.

Ride smart and they will leave us alone if you want to race, scramble, speed or reck the mud go and join a club your child’s life may depend on it and you won’t have to stand over a coffin saying “he was such a lovely lad he was nice to everyone, what a shame”

  5. if i have to get a driving licence pay tax etc. etc. would make the ebike full cost out of my range so the second they make it so ebike rider all have to have a driving licence then ebike rider will drop in a massive way like if i was to get a driving licence i would get a car.also most people i know have either 500w/750w/1000w and as they dont drive crazy they have never been pulled i own a 500w as my health isnt the best i have issue getting up hills so at times i would have to push my 250w bike up hills i cant walk that far so when i go and do shopping and put it on the bike and when i do peddle it isnt safe when your trying to pull off as you cant just peddle and move you have to peddle so far before power kicks in and i have fell of my bike when trying to pull off at a turn so yea i have full throttle that i mostly only use when pulling off and so if they do make it so you need a licence i will keep riding and will just build another im not going to be labours cash cow .

  6. You clearly never wridden up a hill on a Specialized Turbo Levo mountain bike. Totally legal 700 watts peak power, 250 watts nominal. Zero and I mean zero lag. All the problems you described sounds like you’ve bought a very poor quality bike. For road use they should match the US regs which is pedal assist to 20 mph so bikes can keep up with traffic.

  7. Hi
Would just to quote what someone said. That people are irresponsible. So why should we all suffer? I’m 72 I have an e-bike with a throttle and I love it. I’ve had e bikes with gears power levels. And it’s all distracting. I get on my bike open the throttle look where I’m going it’s much safer. I don’t need to use the gears or think just concentrate on where I’m going. The police and the government should be more interested in cars that park on paths. Or the highways department should be cutting the headge rows back. For cyclists and pedestrians? There so quick to make cycle paths in the town I live 2 miles from the town and some paths are much safer than cycling on the road. But so overgrown and unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists. I’m always polite to pedestrians and stop.
The one thing I don’t understand is I can go as fast as I like down hill without peddling as I like. Lol ridiculous. Here I am being environmentally friendly. I could drive the car into town. But nowadays it’s quicker on my bike. But what thanks do I get😢 and just because some people are irresponsible I have to suffer and pedal if I see a police car.

  8. how do you think you would feel if you caused an accident and crippled someone, insurance is the tool that compensates your stupidity, no insurance no compensation and a guilty conscience for the rest of your life

  9. 250 watt motor is quite useful but I would prefer a 500 watt for the very steep hills. My wife won't change her e bike for a newer one because she won't give up her throttle.

  10. Too many bellends riding like… well bellends! It's not ridiculous, wanton and furious riding was used to prosecute that… bellend who killed a pedestrian in London. Insurance should be compulsory.

  11. I think you need different classes. Like a bog standard bycle with a battery that goes up to 15. Keep it free. Any more power etc it aint free and it cant be on a pavment forrest, etc etc l have a bog standard e bike from halfords does me fine gets me up hills with ease and without red tape. One reason for red tape is safety bikes are very vunerable on the road. Its not all about being kill joys.
