Drone video | Area in Turkey’s Erzincan province where miners are trapped after landslide



Nine miners are trapped after a landslide hit Turkey’s Erzincan province – which the Euphrates River runs through – on Tuesday, according to the country’s Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.

The landslide occurred at 2:30 p.m. local time in the mining area of the province’s İliç district where Turkish mining company Anagold Madencilik was operating, according to the ministry’s post on X.

“As a result of the landslide, according to initial determination, 9 mine workers cannot be reached,” the post said, adding that search and rescue teams have been dispatched to the region and that an investigation into the incident is being launched.
