Demo: Nested Virtualization Acceleration – Anup Patel, Ventana Mico Systems

The RISC-V Hypervisor extension (H-extension) naturally supports nested virtualization since the H-extension functionality can be trap-n-emulated by a hypervisor for the Virtual Machine (VM) running under it. The SBI 2.0 specification defines the nested acceleration (NACL) extension which allows a hypervisor to minimize the traps taken while emulating H-extension functionality for the VM. This demo will showcase the benefits of the SBI based NACL extension.
