Today we have Scott running through a quick CPU swap to keep this server operating with maximum performance. There are a number of different things to keep in mind while swapping CPU’s. First, make sure you are always wearing your ESD gear when coming into contact with any servers or components. Secondly, be very delicate when removing your CPU, so as to not damage the processor or the socket. Lastly, make sure you clean both your CPU cooler and the processor itself of any old thermal paste, then apply a fresh layer.
