‘Declaring war on mining sector’ : Employers outraged over crossbench deal
The federal government has faced criticism from employers following an industrial relations legislation deal with the crossbench.
Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke announced a deal with the crossbench on industrial relations legislation on Thursday.
Despite praise from unions for changes including rights for union delegates and the criminalisation of wage theft, ten business groups have accused the government of “shattering business confidence and investment.”
Mining giant BHP and Qantas say the changes will only add to the cost-of-living crisis.
The Minerals Council of Australia are accusing Labor of declaring a war on the mining sector.
