Day 1 homelab 2024 server online, install proxmox, dynamic dns, linux container, troubleshooting
Day 1 – HomeLab 2024 – Start by taking a refurbished/used computer, I by online for $ 180, with 16gb ram, and 512 ssd hard drive, to access from everywhere and learn how to manage our own server at home from anywhere, using our home internet connection.
– In this video I show tome Troubleshoot while installing, because I love to show our errors and how to embrace them for the solution to learn, looking at the linux services, restarting daemons, installing software in debian linux, and changing configuration files, looking at errors and searching solutions.
– Boot from the pendrive to install Operating System linux, a bootable pendrive with proxmox.
– install proxmox operating system in the computer: The Server
– create containers in this platform, proxmox
– have a domain like srv01.simpledoers.work to access to our server
– install ddclient to use dynamic client for update the our domain
– open ssh access from outside of our home
– create a linux user default to access as a normal user, and change into root
key points, minimal path, tutorial like, real sample, commands and coding way approach, of getting thinks done. Practical example.
