If you want a FWD hot hatch, the options seem to be becoming less and less. Today as the power level creeps up, the drivetrain tends to go AWD. Mercedes, Audi, Ford, VW, Toyota, Subaru and Mitsubishi’s most recent high performance hatches all make north of 200kW and utilise an AWD drivetrain.
However, Honda and Seat opted to stick with the simple and lightweight FWD drivetrain despite putting 225kW 2.0L turbo 4’s under the bonnet. Which one is best?
