The sought-after brand also has a four-engine super sports car called U9, which has very powerful features. This domestic pure electric super car was registered on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies, and some parameter information began to be revealed. The U9 pure electric supercar is expected to be launched next year.
From the information released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies, we saw that the U9’s four-motor power unit is more powerful than imagined. An electric motor is installed on each wheel, and the maximum output power of a single motor is 240 kW, with a total power of 960 kW or 1,305 horsepower. Maximum speed is limited to 300 km/h. The length of the electric supercar is 4966 mm, its width is 2029 mm, its height is 1295 or 1338 mm and its wheelbase is 2900 mm. Standard wheel sizes are 275/35 R 21 at the front and 325/30 R 21 at the rear.
The battery capacity has not yet been announced, but it is clear that it will be large, because the curb weight of the U9 is 2475kg and the total mass is 2625kg! For comparison, the GAC Haopin Hyper SSR super sports car launched in October weighs 1990 kg. The tri-motor Hyper SSR has an output of up to 1225 horsepower, a battery capacity of 74.69 kWh and a CLTC fully charged cruising range of 506 kilometers. Maximum Speed is 250 km/h. Currently, Hyper SSR is expected to be the only competitor similar to U9.
The U9’s body uses a lot of carbon fiber material, and the front fascia design is more exaggerated, especially the two crab claw-like headlights, which are quite eye-catching. U9 is equipped with Yi Sifang technology and the four wheels can be moved independently. Specific design details have not yet been announced.
As an electric supercar, the U9’s interior looks more luxurious than sporty and has a strong sense of technology. There is a vertical screen embedded in the T-shaped center console and two screens on the instrument panel, one for the LCD display. the other is the LCD instrument cluster, disc and passenger side entertainment screen. The comfortable seats feature numerous electric adjustments. The feeling of luxury is increased by using plenty of leather, suede and carbon fiber materials in the interior.
The U9 is expected to come in at least two versions: one with a fixed spoiler at the rear, and the other a track-focused version that may have some special chassis settings.
The price of U9 is expected to exceed 1 million yuan. For comparison, the lowest price of Hyper SSR is 1.286 million yuan. Since supercars are produced by the Chinese, many people may not be optimistic about them. But this is a big step for independent brands and it won’t be the last. Chinese-made supercars will definitely create their own unique characteristics.
