Can I do my Esp32, Arduino projects with Raspberry pi 5 as a PC to code this microcontrollers?
Not playing YouTube at 1080p 60 is a huge drawback for me. My PC which has intel core i3-2100 cannot play 720p 60 without dropping frames. This is mainly because its HD 2000 graphics don't support av1 codec. Hardware acceleration support is very important for video and audio playback.
What will happen in case of power cut? Does it have UPS support?
whts up dudzzss… it's…..
I'd rather have something a little faster and a huge GPU for my games
What is the keyboard brand and model, please?
that almost slaps my main pc 💀
Is this able to run blender for low poly modeling not rendering

Hi I was looking to use Ubuntu on my pi 5. Could you tell me how to overclock it as i have done it on the Raspberry Pi OS but can not get it to work on Ubuntu. Thanks and love the vids.
Could you please share which Intel processor is comparable with the performance of raspberry pi 5 with currently mentioned setup in the video
can you make a video about using a raspberry pi 5 android tablet to see if you canuse it as a portable computer
If they release a raspberry pi5 pro with a snapdragon 8 gen3,I am gonna buy it instantly
Pi 5 is much more than a Desktop PC. I bought my Pi 4 and I use it as a Master with multiple Pi Zero as Slaves and wrote an GUI in python from which I control on a touchscreen multiple systems in my house ( opening garage, lights, temperature sensors, webcams from Pi Zero, etc ). Even though I could have used the built-in Wifi, I choose to disable it ( for security reasons ) and everything is on LAN cables, closed loop. That's the True potential of the Pi's. it's cheap, it has good horsepower and tons of supports.
I tried to give it a chance for an Orange Pi 5 to build a Auto 1 DIN System. Built a custom 12V to 5V dc-dc converter separately, had a 1 DIN case from an old Radio Stereo Cassette , but I had lots of problems trying to connect a GPS module to it and gave up.
10MB sample size?
what about the binaries? like getting chrome, or any binary? I guess that they are usually made for x86 architecture, right? since the PI5 is arm, not everyone will have builds for arm processors.
the raspberry pi 5 don’t even have the h264 hardware decoder while they offer two hdmi ports. So weird to me
I hope in the future we get a pi that has microSD express capability for really fast storage speeds.
Can you use the pi 5 for simple 1080p 30fps video editing?
how about workin in AutoCAD (or an ubuntu compatible alternative) on this?
It will absolutely replace your PC, it just won’t do heavy gaming or big time video editing. For what most people use it for, email, web browsing and playing solitaire, it will 100% replace a giant desktop computer… But, so will those “mini-computers” that are capable of mounting on the back of the monitor. It’s 100% going to depend on what you’re going to try to use it for. As what it’s intended for, your desktop computer will not even come close to.
haha i think i been watching way to many pi vids as of late. Kind of tempted to get one or like the others said a intel n100 mini pc (might wait for the official pi 500 or go orange for the form factor and or better performance – most mini pc brands even with good reviews i am iffy about company wise). Might consider replacing the family hdmi usb media player. Added bonus that they can watch youtube/web surfing to some extent with it. something tells me the ui of smart tv or chromecast will be confusing for them compared to pi os and/or windows.
I have no AC. I find stock low power systems built for office use do not like extended running in my home. BTW NVME SSDs tend to run pretty hot, so choose a case and cooling system accordingly if you plan on using the Pi5s PCIE NVME hats. The Pi5's improved SD card speed and dual 5 Gig Usb 3 ports offer more bandwidth than the Pi4's shared IO system. I believe YouTube and Amazon video rentals are still limited to Standard Definition. My screen top out at 1080p so I have had good luck with the Pi4 video. Pi5 video should be just that bit better. I lost internet service, when a car took out a telephone pole. My pis clock were lost without Net access. That battery backed up clock would have been nice. I found Chromium or Thorium, open source versions of Google Chrome beat Firefox on the Pi4. Mx linux has a nice version for the Pi4 or Pi 5. It uses the XFCE desktop, on Debian Bookworm. It is a full Bookworm, built off a PiOS core.
Hi , does ur os run ott platform ?
Nope, but it can become the host for your website, and that's a huge deal.
What a missed opportunity. Pi foundation removed the hardware encoders and decoders, meaning sluggish performance for both watching videos and video calls. IDK what kind of work involves just browsing web and maybe just using google docs. I would much rather prefer one of the rk3588 boards which now has h264,h265 hardware encoders and decoders. They are now working on av1 decode for the board too. Also, the built-in m.2 and emmc support is so nice to have on an “everyday” board.
I want to connect it to my 50" TV. What OS makes this easier.? I tried Zynthian and I have to tweak it to work.
When it comes to desktop use the Pi 5 just can't compete with a used thin client PC. I have both. Sure the Pi 5 is new hardware but a quad core thin client (mine is a Dell Wyse 5070) is cheaper, more powerful, it already has a case, it has a power supply, it has a cooling solution, it has SSD storage, there's a lot more I/O and upgradeability. Plus you can use a standard 64-bit Windows install and not worry about performance issues. At least in my opinion there's no contest.
What about programming .. with multiple windows, multiple text editor, live server, installing sass, node.js, running local by flywheel… will this work smoothly
My software center has never loaded that fast.
I wish it had 8 cores instead of 4.
Will still buy it tho.
Quick enough for now.
Honestly, my hope for building an adequate UMPC just came through with the pi5. Gonna be fun.
26 secconds in, ok, thanks👍
What os are you using? I really like yours. I am using bookworm.
I'd like to build my girlfriend the cheapest little portable computer I can. Do you have any recommendations for a small screen, power source, and potentially a mini keyboard?
About a year after the Raspberry Pi 4 came out, the Raspberry Pi 400 came out. This makes me wonder if the Raspberry Pi 500 will come out in about a year? If so, that would be cool.
Until one of these can smoothly run all of my games at 1080 or better, and my 3D graphic design software, then the answer is: No, it cannot replace my desktop PC.
How did you get Ubuntu running off of the USB so smoothly? I tried and wasn't able to get it working, so I just resorted to using the SD card. 😂
if it was priced like the original raspberry pi then probably
Does it have bluetooth and wifi built in?
Mini PC with N100 is much better option price/performance.
I want to know if the raspberry pi can output good enough performance to use android on it for gaming, emulation and editing videos. Can you please make a vid on this?
Short answer minus the plugging of the PI 5 as is done here. No you cant replace your full desktop pc with this. Nor will it become your favorite gaming emulation device because it cant and never will match up to PC in that regard or even most sbc x 86 boards.
I want to get one of these to replace the laptop in my garage that i stream sports from. yall think it will perform well at that?
They removed hardware decoding for videos completely from Raspberry Pi 5. Pi 4 had H.264 hardware decoding but Pi 5 has now nothing. This is the reason why it is useless for me.
wowoow
I got rid of my full size PC years ago for my pi4. Use it for downloading stuff and as a media server. I am just wondering if I need to upgrade to pi5.
