BSides Berlin 2023: Evgenij Smirnov – Bye Bye NTLM
About the Talk: NTLM is old and weak – no wonder given its 30+ years of service! To harden your environments, you’re going to have to get rid of it, sooner rather than later. In this talk you will learn why this isn’t a trivial task and how to achieve it without breaking too much along the way.
About the Speaker: Evgenij has been ‘doing stuff with computers’ since his childhood and actually working in IT for the best part of the last 25 years. His main areas of expertise are directory services and identity lifecycle in general, groupware and Exchange in particular, PKI, server and desktop virtualization, and – last but not least – enterprise automation. A PowerShell passionate from day one, he holds PowerShell courses and workshops for his co-workers and customers and blogs about his adventures and findings in the PowerShell-land and beyond. Evgenij is a co-lead of the Windows Server User Group Berlin and the founder of the Exchange Server User Group Berlin. He is an active member of the German TechNet community. In the recent past, Evgenij has published over 100 articles in various IT magazines. In September 2020 he was awarded Microsoft MVP in the Cloud and Datacenter Management category.
