Boost FPS! Windows 11 Admin Gaming With INTEL – Tested on i9 13900K, WORTH the Security RISK?
In today’s video, I’m putting the hidden Windows Administrator account to the test on my Intel Core i9-13900K rig. After watching Hardware Unboxed discover some surprising performance boosts on Ryzen CPUs using this account, I had to see if it held up on Intel. I tested 19 games to find out if there’s any real FPS gain worth talking about. I’ll break down the data, share my thoughts on why this might not be the best way to boost performance, and offer some safer alternatives. If you’re into detailed benchmarks and no-nonsense advice, you’re in the right place. Let’s get into it!

For anyone wondering, simply right-clicking on "run as administrator" did provide a performance boost to some of those games, while some didn't until I ran them in the administrator account. So it's hit or miss when trying that method.
I also think its pretty disingenuous of manufacturers to be testing out hardware in an account that the average user shouldn't even be using due to security risk and then post their findings in their marketing materials used to sell said products.
What about cs2
Hardware unboxed released another video showing the latest version of windows 11 24H2 boosted the AMD cpus by alot. Can you test that on the 13900k?
Regards from Portugal!
Been admin gaming since it became a thing. I manage my driver myself and do not let winodws update fiddle with that since its a massive reliability diaster. Its a security risk, i agree esepcially if you run a lot of shady dowlowded programs that can mess up whole system since higher privileges.
Btw your video thumbnail reminds bit Nvidia DLLS 3 frame gen adds😅. 👍
If AMD (or directly Microsoft) promising boost of performance on Ryzen cpus in upcoming Windows update, then it won't be leaving user accounts vulnerable. There is something there to be enabled or optimized.
It reminds me not much old tip from Ancient Gameplays for disabling VT-d in BIOS. I disabled it and checked max peak cpu utilization in my game replay at exact time and it dropped from 85 to 51 percent of cpu. (old but good i3-10100f 😅)
But online tips say it is not vulnerability risk to do this BIOS tweak.
Nice benchmark for Intel. 👍
I disagree. If i get even 1 more fps I'll use the admin acc… Oh wait, i already am using it even before all these branch prediction updates. That's because I'm using atlasOS.
So after this video how much more degraded is ur cpu?
There is no security issue…its about disable data thief by windows…
Good luck with your Intel 13900K cpu, because you'll need it.
The same effect is achieved if you start the game exe "run as administrator" via the context menu or via the Properties tab.
Without looking at your video live updates change all the time graphics drivers play a part as well.
Isn't that when you logging into your account on first windows boot up after installation, the account is running at Admin anyways ?
My custom ISO with all the security disabled already had all those performance "boosts" years ago
Great video as always. Keep it up. May the youtbe algorithm bless you
Whew! Good thing I have 5800x on win 10 😅

No risk if you just update to preview version 24h2
Where is the normal user usually (I'm saying usually because it doesn't have that privileges however k believe you can enae more privileges even on the normal user) doesn't have the privileges that administrator have which this privileges of the administrator also let's you force open an application if they required when you right click on your mouse you might see once "run it as administrator" so that's it.
Now try 24h2
The administrator is like a "superuser" (in linux definition) by default it gives you all the possibilities and grant you full control on your operating system.
They already released an update for Windows with the branch predictions that improve performance. You don't need to this lol update Windows with the new updatw
thanks for testing on intel while nobody seems to care right now. can you compare the new windows update aswell?
Coming to a windows update near you! 24h2 Windows Update.
Windows update KB5041587 has the Windows 11 24H2 optimizations but for 23H2 and just became available. Manually check for updates and grab it. My Black Myth Wukong benchmark score went from 125fps to 145fps with a 5800x3d and 4090 at 1440p with ray tracing on.
the bigger risk would be i9 13900K
commenting for algorithm, great video! deserves some views for sure!! you should totally test latency for games also thou this one is obvious the latency will be lower in admin mode, no duh there haha.
Microsoft QUALITY
WTF admin boost does make a difference hope they get this update out soon
i hate my 7800x3d it sometimes does hang on restart, soometimes takes 20 min to restart
I have used Windows insider sense Windown 10, its already boosted. And windows have optional update for this performance uplift already available for 23H version too.
Great video. I'm thinking of updating my current windows 11 to 24H2 by running setup from a mounted 24H2 iso downloaded from u u p d u m p but will wait to get more info on whether it's worth it for a 5800x3d. If it does it would help out cpu performance with my 4090 which is already honestly good enough.
