  2. Just got my 7800x3d for £325. Was previously on a 5600 …feel like I got a gpu upgrade not a CPU 😀 Was not expecting such a boost. Im only using a Aorus 6800 master 16gb and didnt think I was bottle necked so hard on CPU with such a mid GPU but guess I was.

  3. Been loving my 7600x, 6400 cl30 32gb and 7900XT system. Coming from a amd FX and a gtx 960 it feels amazing launching a game and instantly being at the ultra preset

  4. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 16 with a Ryzen 7 8840u. I'm hoping to use it mostly for dev work on Linux. I don't really care about the screen, so long as the keyboard is okay (doesn't have to be the best keyboard in the world). Is the Ryzen 7 8840u any good for what I want to use it for?

  5. I'm planning to upgrade from AM4 R5 5600gt to AM5. I mainly do digital painting, Photoshop, and a bit of Blender. My max budget is R9 7900x, but isn't that too overkill for those applications, or should I save a little and just get R7 7700x? My GPU is RX 7800xtr NITRO+

  6. 8600G can me mentioned in both CPU and GPU videos 🙂 I got mine for 140$ Tray, I think in US it's at 180$ box, which is still a good price. Has ~gtx 1060 performance and allows playing older/esports games no problems, and comes with all the benefits of the newest chips – AM5 platform, AV1 decode and encode, great efficiency and as a result can work with a basic cooler and in a cheap case.

  7. I was going to post the new and different Chinese vendor selling the 7800X3D for about $310 with 3 reviews talking about clothing purchases, but since earlier today it has been delisted and lowest price currently showing on Amazon is $413.

  8. i wouldn't buy a 13th or 14th gen Intel cpu above a 13700k or 14700k, if you want something with a lot of cores, get a 7900x or 7950x or a 12900k. The risk of the high end 13th and 14th gen Intel chips self destructing is too high for me.

  9. One important thing that you forgott and that almost any reviewer always forgetts is that if you buy 7800X3D you need at least a 4070TI or 7900XT GPU or your CPU will not be able to run at its full potential because of GPU bottleneck in almost any modern game. "PC Games Hardware" one of the best German Hardware mags always points this out. I have a RTX 2080TI and buying a 7800X3d would make zero sense since my GPU will bottleneck at around 65% of the power of the 7800X3d in modern games…. so it would be a complete waste unless i upgrade GPU

  10. For anyone looking to get into AM5, AliExpress has crazy deals in CPUs and (if you feel like taking a gamble) Chinese AM5 Mobos. I got myself b650 itx board and a Ryzen 7 7700 for $251 with tax after $40 dollar coupon. This is my first AMD build so fingers crossed everything works out.

  11. there are wierd niches where you simply have no choice though
imagine a low budget school, they can't really sell old cpu, can't replace computer without outside financing and are stuck with first gen am4 board with athlons 200 in small worm factor cases with no psu power limit to spare
no way to put gpu into the case, won't fit not even low ptofile
can't buy ryzen 7 5700g power limit and price
    5600g? 4500G 5300g?
and the funniest part computers are only 5 years old and no windows 11 support
as a school you are against the wall

  12. Thanks Daniel, for your clear and considered opinions. My use case is office work by day, and some casual gaming after hours. A Ryzen 5 is all I need and the money saved can go to more RAM or SSD capacity.

  13. I remember watching one of your videos saying you’re a teacher… this really shows this is great for new pc builders and people wanting to hop into the PC World 👍🏽 keep it up

  14. The X versions of each chip are usually better binned. Yes a 7600 can become a 7600X with PBO and manually inputting PPT, TDC and EDC values and vice versa but usually – not always the X parts have better memory controllers, FCLK, etc.

  15. I have been struggling to identify the best cpu to play City Skylines 2. If history is an indication, the first City Skylines needed a future cpu (from what was available then) to be truly fun at large city sizes. I am hoping that's not the case for this one and one from the current bunch will be more than sufficient. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for the content!

  16. The new AMD processors are about efficiency not gains and thats fine it’s a new 4nm die and needs optimization anyway probably the generation after this one will have massive gains with the good efficiency it has now.
