Benchmarking desktops on ArchLinux 2024 in Hyper-V

I installed Gnome, Hyprland, i3 and Sway on the ArchLinux machine that we installed in Hyper-V in the last video. I give you a quick overview how you can install and setup this configuration and then I run some OpenGL tests on all the desktop environments to get a more objective explanation, why some configurations feel laggy and slowed down.

Thanks for watching my videos.
Yours, Peter.

Some Transcript:
Sway default-configfile, copy /etc/sway/config to ~/.config/sway/config
In the wayland-session files for Sway and Hyprland configure “Exec=bash -c ~/startScript.sh”
In the startSway.sh script remove or comment the two WLR-softwarerendering exports
At the end of i3-config set “xrandr -s 1920×1080” or simmilar to get the right resolution. (the packagename is xorg-xrandr)
