1Gbit/s ports are big no no for me.
Waiting for the Mini PCs with the AMD Strix CPUs
True ECC support?
Pretty good price here. Their new units with the current gen AMD chips have prices up over $1000.
why an old model like eq12 pro had 2×2.5 (at least the one with the intel n305) any newer systems don't? Also, for some reason that model mysteriously disappeared from everywhere
I just want to say, 10/10 enjoy mini pc videos. Would love more videos from a networking guys POV!
Pretty new to your channel and really liking what you're doing. Great stuff, I appreciate how you get to the point and don't get lost in rabbit holes.
I got the version with the 7735HS. How different would you say the two systems are? Really like your channel btw.
Two things:
1) Do you know what's the maximum amount of memory that this system supports? Is it 64 GB or 96 GB?
2) I have two Beelink GTR5 5900HX systems and they've been absolutely rock solid. LOVE the Beelink systems.
Great for Eth nodes
first
1GbE…yawn!
When you said no 2.5G ports … Sigh. There's always something not quite right. Its like these manufacturers do it on purpose to tease us. π’
IOMMU groups? Are Beelink as good as ASRock at providing custom BIOSs?
My EQ12 has been running Proxmox for about a year without a hiccup. No complaints.
I have a Beelink SEi for my home server and it runs great too. Only an Intel i5 12th Gen but plenty for what I'm doing with it.
Amazing what these little boxes can do these days. Full home lab is so small package…
hmmm … elephant in the room … is longevity…. if they all start to die in several years times (because of comprising factors like "being too small" & "quality control") … be better cheaper to get a traditional hp/dell/lenovo small factor pc which is easily upgraded repaired later – just not as "pretty" looking π
It's nice of you to review these small pieces of equipment for us, thank you.
Question, does this have IOMMU ?
I'm curious as to why these companies are releasing new hardware based on old silicon. Any thoughts?
Love it. I would like to see your take on a home lab with these units in a cluster.
perfectly timed! Considering one of these for pfSense/OPNSense. Also watched Daniiel's channel already. Can recommend.
Love your content. Thanks for teaching!
