Recipe:

Have your oven set to 375 F!

In one bowl, combine:
2 sticks unsalted butter (1 cup total, one stick browned on the stove and one stick room temp)
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 (large) egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup maple syrup (pure, not Ms. Butterworth hahaha)

In another bowl, whisk together:
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (combo of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
Sprinkle of salt! (Or about 1/2 tsp)

Then combine both the dry and wet ingredients until all of the dry is incorporated, and add in as many chocolate chips as you like. I went for about 1 cup + a little extra.

It is a good idea to let your dough chill for at least 30 minutes in the fridge! But it’s okay if not. 🙂

Have extra cinnamon for sprinkling over top the cookies.
(Optional, but sea salt flakes and brown sugar for garnish as well)

Pop your dough onto some parchment paper on a tray (I use a small ice cream scoop) and bake for 12-13 minutes or until you get them juuust barely golden (so they stay nice and chewy)

  1. I feel like sometimes creators might not realize the extent of their impact, I was listening to one of your older videos and some of the stuff you said made me really start thinking about my own life. It’s 4:00 in the morning and I can’t sleep, and I’ve been fighting with my girlfriend, and it’s all just so stupid and I keep making issues and it all feels impossible, but your videos give me a sense of hope, and make me feel like I’m not alone in my thoughts, and that others are also struggling. And even now it’s difficult, just recently I started feeling better after being depressed and suicidal for years, with a few suicide attempts and lots of self harm resulting in hospital visits. And beyond that, being drug addicted, your videos make me want to get my life in order. I don’t know why, but you motivate me to apologize to my girlfriend, start taking care of myself, and get clean, or at least clean besides weed, I’m not giving that up. Anyways, thank you for making these videos, not only do they help me sleep, they help me want to be a better person.

  2. Ok ok ok now this is def a recipe I want to try baking with my daughter!!! They look mouthwatering! Thank you for another gem of a video. The double thumbs up at the end of the video was a perfect touch. You are an all star amongst the community.
