  1. Linux veteran (I build Linux From Scratch for fun) and someone who has used Arch for over 10 years here. Just wanted to chime in about Archinstall because I personally feel that teaching Linux newbies how to skip the process is a dangerous paradigm. I always say, its like jumping into the deep end of the pool off a diving board without knowing how to swim. Arch is a very manual distro, if you don't understand the process then you have no chance of understanding how to use it correctly and/or fix issues as they arise. Most people are used to Windows, Linux is not that and when people are trying to move away from Windows I feel its important they choose a distro that will hold their hand otherwise at the first sign of trouble they'll ditch it and jump back to Windows. Archinstall is great for people like you or me that know how to do it but are too lazy to do it ourselves however, and again just my opinion here, Arch is not a suitable distro (really at all) for anyone trying to learn the ropes. And before anyone starts on the "Linux Elitist" train, no. I spend a not insignificant amount of time helping new users to figure stuff out across various forums, I want people to switch to Linux. If I were a driving instructor I wouldn't do lessons in a Ferrari.
