Well more problems in the homelab. Remote backups are still broken. The box I built is not working right, and is running out of space. I really need to get things figured out. Also wouldnโt hurt to have some more video editing horsepower for home. I canโt pin down a config since I want support for 4Kn drives. Really would prefer a Dell server but also donโt want noisy. Some of my wants:
Up to 16 cores around 2.7GHz (Like the Xeon E5-2690 V3 for example)
64GB DDR4
Up to 100TB storage with 2 drive redundancy
GPU support
10GB networking through add on card
I would like it to be under $400 for everything but the drives.
Havenโt decided on a hypervisor yet. Either gonna stick with ESXi or maybe do TrueNAS since I wonโt be doing as much with it. If I do run TrueNAS that would remove some of my motherboard limitations. Tough to choose. I do wish the PowerEdge T420/T430 supported faster CPUs. Going nuts with a T630 would be a blast but they are too expensive.
