Alpine Linux on Raspberry Pi: Remote Syslog with TLS Encryption
In this video we will be setting up centralized logging via the command line the Linux command line on Alpine Linux running on a Raspberry Pi. We will be creating a syslog server, and configure a client to submit logs over the network to it. We will do a basic example without encryption, and then cover a more detailed example of adding encryption to the data for better security.
If you are here for syslog without encryption, you are in luck, because that part went as planned. If you are here for how to configure the TLS, well that went a little off the rails and shows how even good resources may be based on older information or syntax for other distributions. We pushed through and in the end you can see it all working the way it should.
I will be posting a GitHub with quick reference material covered in this stream that will include the final syntax for the TLS config and I will update the description and post a comment when it is up.
