AliExpress cheapskate visits boutique bike show…
I’m known for dealing in very cheap bike parts, most of which I get direct from China via AliExpress. So I decided to visit Rouleur Live…
Rouleur Live is a yearly bike show in the UK that has a reputation for showcasing the more premium side of the bike industry. Many of the bands involved are incredibly boutique, some only producing a handful of bikes every year.
For example Bastion, one of the brands present, is an Australian company making the most expensive bikes you can currently buy. Their prices vary depending on how you choose to spec everything out, but expect to pay upwards of $30,000 for a road bike!
There are also loads of well known brands present, such as Pinarello, Colnago, Cervelo, Argon 18, and Trek. I also spent some time grilling Cannondale on their new Lab71 lineup, and to be honest, I wasn’t particularly impressed. In addition the Van Rysel stand, Decathlons premium road bike brand, displayed their new RCR Pro, which at £9000, wasn’t particularly impressive either in my opinion.
However there were a number of REALLY cool companies, showing off some incredible bikes, even if the prices were somewhat eye-watering.
So come with me, while I take quite a sceptical view of the ultra premium bike market.

There are countless Bike channels that remind us how poor we are and premium cycling is out of our reach and here Luke reminds me I dont need to be filthy rich to enjoy proper road cycling
Great video, love that you didn’t shy away from airing your genuine opinions throughout.
Great video! 😊
very well done man.!! would have never guessed it was your first live blogging outing. thank you for the insight. 🙂
TBH, bikes nowadays totally overpriced for sure….
These bikes are hideous 😂😂
More bespunk, than bespoke 😂
This is the best vlog ever. I like your approach and honesty. Really good video. Just keep doing all you do😉
Best coverage of any YouTube channel I’ve seen so far from all the usual suspects, well done.
Carbonfibre chainrings last for ~200km. 🤮
Its amazing the quality of second hand car you can buy for the price of some of these bikes.. Like a newish family SUV with ULEZ and child seats.. Who actually buys these? Im with you Luke – cheap chinese carbon for the win
🎉Yes..100%>please do other shows..&..Any "events" hillclimb..gravel road etc..because you come across very very genuine..as a presenter..it's why trace velo works..its not trace velo that works its how you present naturally..visit custom titanium..steel..builders..events budget suppliers wheel builders etc
One hell of video mate 💪💪💪
EXS makes some pretty incredible stuff. The aerover in particular is really really popular over on weight weenies.
Very interesting and well presented, I would even go as far as saying, outstanding.
Ok, the prizes are ridiculous especially Van Rysel and Campangnolo! I expect their stuff to heal cancer for such prizing….
Van rysel are overpricing last generation Chinese frames for the association psychology of price=quality.
Go to other events, I love your videos and your raw, unfiltered opion from that event. This what the society needs, besides more bikes with personality;).
👏👏👍👍😍😍
Oh please do Eurobike next!
If American companies wanted to get on the Trump train they would tariff the hell out of Chinese open mold imports. It should be an interesting 4 years.
I live in Britain, never heard of the lynxos brand before and agree decathlons which is french does seem to be a bit pricey, maybe it's the pro team erre t on pricing
Great video, thanks Luke, awesome content, as ever!!!
