  1. Good job. I have 2 NAS as well. My setup is switched though. 4 bay for the work and 2 bay for the backup (only 1 20tb drive).
    My reason behind this is as you have 4 drives you get a performance gain in speed , us black magic speed test to see. I used the 10gb card on the 4 bay.
    Then the remote 2 bay NAS on budget, only could afford 1 20tb drive which covers all data for now on 4 bay. The 2 bay is set up as JOBD. When I need more backup space I can add another 20 and get 40tb.
    Yes the backup is not raid but itโ€™s a backup. If a drive should fail it will take out all backups But I can replace 2 drives easily with different drive sizes if needed.
    It was a way to backup more affordability to a remote location.
    $300 2bay synology
    $300 for 20tb drive
