I got a handy boy for Christmas one year, it was pretty awesome but needed a ton of massive batteries that seemed to last about 10 minutes, if it wasn't for the plug in power adapter i would have never have been able to use that thing
😯☺️🙂
Exoprimal was something i tried on game pass and it made me realize that game was really awful, they used to have ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3 on there a long time ago and i was able to play it with my dad back then which was nice
Cannon spike for a potential third classic collection. It was a Dreamcast game in arcade game. It’s like a top down shooter kinda beat them up with Cammy and Charlie.
🥤🍿
The funny thing about Concord to me is that, from that first trailer, I'd have been into it if it had turned out to be a single-player action-adventure game in the vein of the SE Guardians of the Galaxy. I really enjoy the Guardians vibes they had going there, but as soon as they revealed it was a live service shooter game, my interest died immediately. I am beyond done with live service games even as f2p, much less paid.
Kind of reminds me of Babylon's Fall that way. "Oo, new action game from Platinum, looks cool! …wait, it's a what? Why? Damn it…"
I don't think it's a tough conclusion to come to that Concorde's characters aren't memorable because:
– The art style is as bland as they are. Just because your setting is in space doesn't mean the art style can't boringify the setting, and that extends to characters.
– Thier personality is copy paste ragtag group of misfits barely functioning as a team butching and snarking about things going wrong…that seemingly only manage to be badass out of sheer luck or on the fly improvising.
Like Guardians of the Galaxy, The team of Star Wars Rebels, etc etc etc…all of which have done it in ways that *work*, but…that still means it's been done before and better.
– I don't know this one specifically (cause I didn't play, go figure), but I imagine the unique skills and abilities of the characters, while functional and maybe even well balanced…aren't big over the top flashy super effects or with special properties that make them more than, and again, I didn't play, but say "hookshot" or "quick dash" or "big bomb".
Like, I know there's a robot character. What if one of his abilities was to clomp down and transform into a turret station with like 5 different types of fire arms.
It's not the best gameplay wise to want to stay in one spot, but I see the animation and the absurdity of the turret's design as something memorable.
If the characters of Concorde were added into Overwatch, as they are, thier abilities (I imagine) would look boring compared to "the hamster in a mech that bounces around like a super bouncy rubber ball the size and weight of an actual wrecking ball", cause that's something that character and only that character does, even beyond the limits of Overwatch.
Team Fortress 2 had basic human beings as characters and (thanks in part to the delightful meet the team videos) they're all far more characterized with different accents and personalities even just in gameplay "BONK!" Cause they're not just "squad of snarky mercenary/bounty hunters" with mostly interchangable attitudes.
Helldivers 2 70 percent of players are on steam
For non mobile steam is the largest market if concord capped at 700 it would be a bit less on ps5
Just remember one of the concord devs on twitter had a big meltdown
People keep comparing it to Overwatch, it was much closer to Destiny Crucible PVP. Arguably the worst part of Destiny but they made it the whole game.
At least Sony got a shot in the arm with Wukong's release. And speaking of live services flop, it reminded me of Exoprimal. At least with that, Capcom had the insight to put it on Game Pass(unfortunately it didn't really help the game).
Andrew's right about the shots and angles in modern movies. If I have to watch one more distracting, shaking ass camera, I'm just done with these films
Andrew made a great point about old movies airing on cable tv. I’m 25 years old and growing up in the 2000s all these channels would show all these movies and it was basically Netflix for me at the time. I wouldn’t know nor care about these classics if it weren’t for cable tv airing these movies during the weekends. Man those were the days just anticipating when the movies were gonna air on tv.
I really liked the movie talk.
I always enjoy when you guys talk about movies. Always insightful and perspective talk.
Paladins surprisingly is still out lasting so many other live service games that came and went.
44:38 you can’t even make LOTR today
35+ years old and don't know why but I just don't care to watch movies now adays.
Even funnier I'll watch content creators talk for hours about video games and movies.
Concord got set to die right when the Marvel Rivals beta came out.
@28:50 Matt talked about this last episode but the Concord cgi teaser was a literal "nothing burger".
That's where Concord started and ended a nothing burger and probably will be flushed from the memory faster than Babylon Falls.
There's so much bad things happening in the industry that Blue Protocol being shutdown didn't even get a mention (unless I don't remember it from last week's episode).
Get YoVideoGames one of them fancy wall poster sponsorships like that displate. That way Andrew can get some new posters on his wall that can survive that muddy heat.
