Win95 OSR2 was the one that had FAT32. The first release of Win95 didnt have FAT32 support. Only FAT 12 and 16 were supported. So basically just like DOS.
Grew up on ME. Used XP (yuck) in a school where they "gave free computers" to the students (meaning, you paid a huge bill, got the world's oldest pc that rarely booted correctly, and had to use an ancient OS that made me like Vista even more than I did originally).
I'm one of the odd people who liked Vista and 8 and 8.1. 7 was good, but the others were fine too.
Correction: Fat32s max size when formatted through Windows was 32GB, you could download a tool to format it or use another os previously to get a Fat32 drive with over 32GB, and that file size thats above 32GB would still show in Windows. I used a Windows tool for a 128GB SD Card, and it displays the higher file size on older versions like 8.1 too (I used 8.1 when formatting the SD because it was on a old laptop with a SD reader, and I didnt have another SD reader (Internal or External) at the time)
Once my friend’s cousin(16 then) heard me talking about Windows 98 and asked me why Windows 11 came out after 98. I said it’s cause there was no Windows in 1911 and went back to my conversation. He looked soo confused😂😂
it isn't a limitation of fat32 but the fact that a microsoft employee arbitrarily chose 32gb way back when he was making the format drive menu, he even has a video on it
Even though I'm born in 2006 I used Windows XP for quite a Time, why..? Because it was awesome, And I like trying older things like Windows 98/ 3.1 and 1 and I tried a lot of older windows,
Nope, the File size hasn't changed. The maximum File size storable in a FAT32 file system is 4 GB, and thet hasn't changed. What's changed is the maximum Drive size (or partition size, if you wanna get nitpicky). The dialog was programmed to limit FAT32 to a maximum drive size of 32 GB, but Dave Plummer revealed he added that limit arbitrarily. The actual maximum drive size FAT32 can handle is 2 TB.
Better late than never, it’s been 32 years.

I’d it if Microsoft would go back to these days so I can have an equally good operating system to pair with my ryzen 4070
FAT32 can now store 114GB. Saved you a minute
Never had a file bigger than a few gigs, so meh 😅
Please update this video with the correct info.
I started using windows since xp

BROOOO FINALLY
Who's still using fat32 when there's ExFat (or NTFS) today ?
My 1st OS was Windows 95 💀💀💀
"With all the people gone"
Continues to say it's about file size instead of partition size.
My man, could it be that you haven't used these old OS? You don't seem like someone who tried to copy a 10gb file/iso on a fat32 stick
I rmbr fat 32 when I was modding my 3ds

I’m 13 and jailbreak Nintendo 3ds’s and this is going to be a lifesaver
for what purpose though?? Can someone educate me as to why we need more than 32gb for a fat32 drive?
Lol
YIPEE NOW I CAN PLAY WII
Get your facts right or copy from good sources. 😒

Also error you made Zach: The file size limit is a HARD 4 gigabytes per file.
The PARTITION size limitation is what has been natively worked around.
Either way, 32 years was long enough
TOOK YALL LONG ENOUGH!!
LET'S GOOOO NO FAT32 LIMITATIONS
Even though I'm born in 2006 I used Windows XP for quite a Time, why..?
