CasaOS is an open-source OS for home servers!
In this video I demo CasaOS, an open-source “operating system” for home servers. It ships with the ZimaBlade but can be deployed to any Linux based OS.
The whole thing is basically a wrapper around Docker, which means you can fall back on a huge swatch of existing images and documentation around Docker.

You didnโt tell us anything about zimablade.. Zima get your money back girl
CasaOS is really cool.
Casaos is not even made specifically for the zima, you can installl it on a verity of linux types like Debian.
Zima isn't worth it after the raspberry pi 5, and if you won't utilize the small size, you can get an old pc like the hp elitedesk 800 g3 with i5-7500 and 16GB ram for 100 usd. There are a ton of offers like it
How much RAM and what CPU does it have?
im never leaving your page
how can i set up nextcloud on casa, im running on top of debian. I want a mysql/postgres db
for a second i thought it was a SO-DIMM ram PCIe adapter lol
Shut Up … by 2nd Hand Lenovo M910. Is cheaper and more powerfull.
How does CasaOS compare to something like OpenMediaVault though?
Can it run Xenoblade Chronicles?
i could be fooled into thinking that this was ted nivison
Docker is great if you have a lot of storage, and you can remove clone, etc, without changing the os itself, but since it's a debian, you can add anny debian software,
how to make auto windows backup in such e small server??
I am #1000 liker
Will it run windows?
Can it run on old laptop (motherboards)? I recently took one apart and have been looking for something like this.
Love your keyboard
Interesting thing is that casa means home in many latin languages (spanish, italian, romanian, etc)
Looks interesting, my rink-a-dink server recently shit the bed, so I'll be giving this a go.
What's the install proceed like?
Very cool kbd๐๐ป
What computer is that
This would be a pretty cool alternative to my current setup where Iโm running Portainer alongside webmin on top of Debian. I will need ZFS support though.
I honestly just want TrueNAS without their stupid kubernetes implementation that I donโt need.
Docker it's not complicated, unless you want to use it

Big shout-out to IceWhale Technologies for sponsoring this short and making CasaOS. If you're interested in CasaOS you can find the Github repo and project site via Google. If you're interested in checking out the ZimaBlade, their CrowdSupply campaign ends on October 31st and can be found on Google or on the "Links" section of my blog (link in bio).
