These beautiful dolls are sculpted by talented sculptors into kits, which are then purchased by artist worldwide, painted by hand with hundreds of semi trasnsparent layers, to create a realistic skin tone, creases, mottling, veining, nail and toe nail tips, half moons, they require great patience and are done with great detail. Each artist has their own style and no two baby dolls are ever the same, they have rooted hair and eyelashes, beautiful glass eyes, they take moths to make and are not intended for children to play with.
The dolls in my nursery are created by me and they are my forever babies, Chloe (Arianna by the wonderful, late Reva Schick) is 11 months old in my nursery, she is 28 inches long and wears size 9-12 months clothes and in some brands 12 months, Phoebe (Maddie by Bonnie Brown) is 7 months old, she is a chunky 24 inches and wears 3-6 months, Danielle (Anna by Ivetta Eckertova) is a newborn size, and now my newest baby from the UK, my dream baby -Prim or Primmie (Maizie by Andrea Arcello) she wears 0- 3 months. I am going to paint authentic kits only from now on, because selling replica babies, no matter how beautiful i paint them, it is still a replica.
I have discovered that replica kits are not for me when I compared the authentic Ariana to the copy. I wasn’t as phased by the differences in maddie (my authentic Phoebe) because they actually made her very cute, just much skinnier, but the differences were very significant in the authentic Ariana and my Chloe. I was literally heart broken when I saw how much more beautiful Chloe could have been, if I knew where to buy authentic kits in the first place.
The other artists were bashing everyone for buying replicas but they never tell anyone where to buy authentic. It makes no sense. They are just ranting and bullying, not helping anyone. I love shopping for my girls and spoiling them. I take them out for drives and to the park. I record some hauls and role play videos. I am not experienced at all, but I am trying my best with my disabilities. I have physical disabilities, PTSD and depression. having realistic baby dolls can help anyone and many people collect them just for the art. Everyone of us know they are dolls, but no one is ever too old to have fun.
