  1. Am disappointed he didn't mention that Linux still has a ram issue it's rare but when it happens it's really annoying and don't tell me unused ram is wasted ram because I want the unused ram too play my games without running into memory leaks all the time, maybe am too focused on watching my RAM free memory too much but I cant be the only one facing this memory leaks issue regardless of what distro I use as soon as I ise top and check my memory usage it starts going up for no reason they need to fix that.

  2. Hey DT! Great to see some new videos for newcomers to Linux. I switched over the summer and have found your channel to be an invaluable resource. Thanks for all the work you put in to making Linux more accessible πŸ‘

  3. i have an old Intel Core i7-3770 with a Radeon Pro WX 2100 and 16gbytes of ram , on windows 10 it has nice performance but on windows 11 it has awful performance , chrome will be so slow, very noticable slower ! (newest graphics drivers installed)
With linux it runs very fast so i don't even have any reasons to upgrade.

  4. Balena Etchers is available for Windows as well
Virtualbox is a great option if you don't know what distro to choose. Install it and if you don't like it, just blow it away. When you have decided which distro you like, I think installing on a secondary machine and using it for your day to day is the key to getting a handle on Linux. But you've still got your other machine if you run into a snag you just can't fix straight away.

  5. I have Linux Mint Cinnamon on a old Windows 7 laptop and this laptop only has a dual core cpu and 4 GB of memory runs fantastic in a old laptop like this the screen is only 720p resolution so the cpu and ram don't have to do much anyway so yeah try out Linux.

  6. When I first tried Linux in the early 2000s, I heard so many horror stories of people trying Linux via dual boot. Enough to put me off of trying it. I can't recall any kind of software like VirtualBox either. I had some older PC parts and so I purchased the rest so I could put together a second machine and installed Linux on that.
