The 2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec ($143,885 starting in the US, $218,492 in Canada with lux tax) and the 2009 Nissan GT-R (~$60,000 USD, ~$81,500 CAD converted) are here to show us how far the R35 GT-R has come over the years. Powered by the same twin-turbo V6 that is a well-known tunable monster, the new T-Spec has 85 more horsepower and a whole slew of suspension, transmission, and quality of life upgrades over its earlier model of the same generation. But is it worth saving some money and going for an earlier model year? And how are they different to drive and live with? Thomas and James can’t wait to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode. And then subscribe, silly.

Huge thank you to @ie_gtr_tspec for loaning us their new T-Spec
And to @gtr.mak for their lovely 2009 GT-R
And to @dtla_auto_storage for their pristine Hakosuka

  1. These two are so impressed about a screen. Who cares? Screen are dime a dozen and only distract you from the reason you are in the car. Why is a screen the way your discussion and other vids eventually gravitate to? What a waste of minutes that could be used for other cool things about the car. It's nice to have buttons and analog dials. That's why they are still in the car. I have a 90 z32. I know where all the knobs and buttons are and unconsciously use them while driving. Eyes on the road not just for safety but isn't the point of this car to focus on that? SOTAS (something other than a screen). I used to tell my kids.

  2. now put the same money into a 370z with 700 plus hp and the Z will crush the GTR sad but true. hell if i put in over 100 grand into a 300zx twin turbo i would destroy most anything on the road.

  3. The dollar is literally being destroyed / debased / devalued. The best performing asset in the history of the world is BITCOIN. BITCOIN is by far the best store of value. 10 years from now you’ll be thankful for every dollar you put into BITCOIN.

  4. I do not care if the r35 is old, I do not care that the r35 is "boring", it's still the supercar benchmark that has been my dream car for as long as I can remember

  5. Nissan spat on the consumers who made them what they are. They cater to rich people who likely would prefer to buy a Ferrari or Lambo. Just taking the piss out of people and thats why Japans car industry is failing.

  6. I'd just buy the cheaper one and mod it up too 800-900hp, Nismo body kit, suspension upgrade, exhaust, ect.. for most likely cheaper then the cost of a new one and have a MUCH MUCH quicker car/track weapon. Hey, you guys should do that video. See how far you can push/mod the cheaper one for the cost of a new one and compare them.

  7. as someone who drove the g35 coupe for awhile i can promise you they are giving the interior and ride quality way too much credit, all that stuff in there are the same fucking parts from 15 years ago, i even recognize the seat buckle and the plastic trim below the seat. i would not pay 250k for that shit. nissan and japan in general are good at ripping people off.

  8. You literally just need to change the turbo inlets on the pre 2012 cars(you can even use the stock 2012+ inlets) tune the car, and you’re faster than the 2024 GTRs
